The Memorial Day MMP

If anyone knows where to catch the Ark speak now. It has rained off and on for three weeks. I love rain, especially for sleeping. There is an 80% chance tonight and tomorrow. If it is flooding in the morning I shall take a rain day. Please pray for more rain here around 7am.

We had not so good Chinese. I was not so good.

MetalMouse get ready for your deluge. Also Doggioooo. And swampy and Red and anyone else in the cone of uncertainty.

Happy Moanday night.

Bravo emily!

I irked today. It’s the last week of the month and, given the time off we have all taken this month, we’re behind. Not as much as we were when one of my cow-orkers and I came in, but the other reconciler will be out tomorrow too. The data analyst that I cover for when he’s out was out today, so there was about an hour with his reports, a half hour with the vacationing reconciler’s reports and another 45 minutes with reports that the ijit on the weekend shift didn’t do. I got last week’s irk caught up and will begin this week’s tomorrow between meetings.

The floors are vaccuumed and laundry is in the dryer. Mojo pork tacos were supper. Tomorrow afternoon, Nelson goes in for his annual checkup. I’m pretty confident he’ll get a clean bill of health since he’s gone in to be weighed every other month during puppyhood so that he could get the proper dose of heartworm preventative. I’m pretty sure that he thinks the vet’s office is where you go to get weighed and get skritches and a treat. the only time they’ve done anything uncomfortable was his first checkup and being neutered.

I’ve got smelling salts around here somewhere…

Yay Emily!

Guess which dog just ate my bag of chocolate chips, and then raided the trash can. That’s right - Pooka Bear. Fortunately he’s the size of a bear, and I don’t need to induce vomiting. (I had to do it when he ate 6 libs of Halloween candy, but that’s a different story.) He’s is very pleased with himself.

The groceries have been picked up and the laundry started. We’ll either have steaks tonight or go out to eat.

Red I can’t believe Nelson is already a year old. Time flies!

I have you covered. The Biblical verse, “Noah look out of the Arkansas the waters receding.”

sunny, I know! Time flies. I hope Pooka-bear sustains no damage from the chocolate.

Blurf. Pretty much a nothing day, got rain in the early afternoon and more is coming for later this evening, but outside of nappage and reading it was pretty much of no-thing day. Maybe I do need to go back to work…

nah.

Worked, went to the VFW for the Memorial Day cookout. Survived the Inaugural Men’s wet t-shit contest. and karaoke.[sup][sup]11[/sup][/sup]. Watching the Stanley Cup Finals.

Some of us were working today.:stuck_out_tongue:

Why? It all gets hijacked halfway through the OP ayways.

I went there once, for football/

Yeah, I work retail ,so “holiday” usually mean working twice as hard for twice as long as usual.

I won’t get much. red and my cousin in Nashville will.:frowning:

Gordie once ate a roomate’s rum cake.

And this week you are indeed both!

Hot and humid here. Moved a cannon barrel into the basement (not that unusual for me) and did a little puttering before work. Work was fine and easy which saves the company on bonus pay. And they gave us a traditional Memorial Day treat.

Hotdogs? No.
Hamburgers? No.
Ice-cream? Nope.

Pizza. Yeah ------- that’s right --------- pizza.
But it was good and free and what the Hell. Considering half the work force has no idea what Memorial Day is we had a lot of fun with it all.

Any cold Tall Boys will be fine.

I got those covered!

USPS did as well for special packages ------- like the one the neighbor got from Da Jungle.

(Some day I have GOT to look up that agreement.)

Quiet --------- almost too quiet.

Up, caffeinated and sheveled. Off to work. I may only have to open up the store, then I can get the rest of the day off.

Also, las vegas beat washington last night in the 1st stanley cup game(#nocaps)

Shame on you!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

It was rough getting up this morning, even tho I never really slept in all weekend. But I’m here, dressed more or less like an adult, and there’s stuff on my desk to do, so yay for that.

Feels like Moanday, but I know it’s not, so Happy Tuesday!!!

Happy Toosday!

It’s 68 degrees outside, I have the fan on and it’s a bit chilly in here.
It’s supposed to get up to 82 today, not so hot.
We may or may not turn on the AC, but with overnight temps dropping to the high 50s it doesn’t make sense.

We almost forgot to take the trash out last night, the shrimp shells were already pretty ripe, another week could have been disasterous. I should stick them in the freezer until trash day, but then I’d probably forgt them and end up with a freezer full of shrimp shells.

Nothing special to do today.
I think chicken and broccoli for dinner tonight, for me. Hamburgers for my son.

Hope you get the day off Doggio.

Got up early and I just enjoyed a cup of Costa Rican coffee. I got it at the local store.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 81 with rain/tstorms/apocalypse for the day. The cone is trackin’ west of here so what we’re gettin’ is rains from the outer bands. Oh and we have a flash flood watch. Rah. I shall spiff da cave today which is actually not all that bad. Also, some laundry shall be done. We shall sup upon leftovers from yestiddy’s pot roast.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then onward into the day. Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Morning. About 72F outside, with a big old mess of storms down south of Birmingham right now but making their way north, so if I’m going to be doing anything, it’ll have to be early.

Strange moanday. Up early (0630), then napped from 2-4, and ended up staying awake until 1am–since I got up today at 0630 again, I expect avoiding nappage will be difficult, we’ll have to see.

Lunch break - FINALLY!

This has been one of those mornings. C’mon, Firday!!!

Lunch/dinner was leftovers (corn and meatloaf) and it is farging humid so not much else is going to get accomplished before work.

Still hot. Still muggy. Still no AC. We made it through, but hanging out with the in-laws just isn’t my idea of a kick-ass good Memorial Day.

Looking forward to going to Chicago this weekend. My parents (who live a few hours south of Chicago) are meeting Romeo and I in the Chicago area to take the young’uns. Then we’re going to a show Friday night, bumming around town Saturday, and meeting back up with the folks Sunday afternoon to get the kids back.

The trip will be a nice treat after busting our butts to clean and fix up our house in the fracking heat so we can get it appraised Friday morning.

But I need to get through a few 10-hour days at work first. Between the holiday yesterday and taking Friday off, I need to be in the office for a little bit the other three days!

Bad day yesterday. Wifey got up at 6am and had a tachycardia attack, she thought. She’s had them every now and then for years and they usually go away in a little while. Well, this one lasted until noon when we decided she needed to go to the E.R.

They checked her and said she was in AFib (atrial fibrillation) instead. They gave her some drugs that didn’t work and finally they shocked her. They called it electroconversion. It’s not exactly like they show on the doctor shows on TV, at all. I had it done to me once, but I was knocked out for it so didn’t see how it went. They knocked her out too, which was a good thing. The ER doc said it’s like getting kicked in the chest by an elephant.

Anyway, it put her back into a proper rhythm.

We got to go home about 4pm, with a prescription for Xarelto, a ridiculously expensive blood thinner.

So that was our memorial day.

I never liked memorial day anyway, it being the one day of the year when the politicians make speeches singing the praises of the people they treat like dirt all the rest of the year. The hypocrisy really burns my biscuits!

Wifey has now gone off to her office, and I’m heading out to the back deck to clean and refill the hot tub. rah
Fortunately it’s sunny and 56F here this morning.

Happy Toosday y’all!
