The MMP is here

Break time. I’m almost done pinning and cutting out a pair of men’s pants. First time I’ve ever made any. They’re being made from the fabric on these cushions. Impressive, eh? It’s a coworker’s protest against the dress code, and I helped! They’ll be stunning…

FCD’s friend flaked on him, so daughter is going sailing with him. I better get back to work.

Oh yes, those pants will something! I would love to see the looks on management’s faces when they see your co-worker strolling around in those!

I’m giving myself 15 more minutes of chill time before I tackle the day at hand.

Haircut, brekkies, grocery trip to Da Big City. Now it’s nap time!

MOOOOOOM he should get a polyester paisley print shirt to go with the pants.

I came in from the pool. I got too hot. We hooked up the fountain and that will make the water cooler after it runs for a while. I debated goin’ back out but I think I should nappy poo instead. After all I must be refreshed and well rested for the doin’s tonight!

**swampy **- we were thinking his orange hawaiian shirt, and suspenders to match the pants!

Well, I just finished putting my first fly in. Now I know why women’s zippers are done differently, and easier. What a fiasco! However, I did learn how to use my buttonholer attachment.

I’m about to do the pockets. Thankfully, the pockets go on before the pants go together. I think the fly was the worst of it - from here on out, it should, in theory, go quicker.

Brian owes me - just sayin’…

Break time again. I will never make a pair of men’s pants again unless they’re pull-on elastic waist. My dining room table is just slightly too short, so it’s hard on my back as I work there. Hence the breaks.

I used to sew all the time. I used to enjoy it. Now, not so much. But at least I have a decent sewing machine. My poor Viking fought me for too many years.

Back to work. rah. Die, Brian, Die!!!

OOOOOOH! Perfection!

I’m all cleanded up, deodorized and coifed. All that remains is to don the finery which shall be put off until the very last minute cause it’s hawt outside! 95 degrees Amurrkin with a heat index of 104!

And I quit. Daughter and I are going to get some Messican food, then go to a dance showcase. **FCD **is just going to crash at home.

All that remains on the pants is the center seam, the facing at the waist, and the hem. They are definitely as horrible as I expected.

I haven’t been all that productive today. The second load of laundry is in the dryer, and the first one of towels is on the couch.

I did take the doggies to the park, which was greatly appreciated by my husband. He had to stay home and wait for the AT&T guy about our cable problem. Pixillating is fixed! And the repair guy didn’t have to put up with barking dogs.

The dogs appreciated it, too!

Going out for Messican, too, moom.

We went to a biker bar to watch the World Cup. Now it’s nap time.

Apparently I’m a bad American because I rooted for England. WTFever. Like half of these people ever give a rat’s ass about the US soccer teams at any non-World Cup time.

It’s mad hot outside. Not mountain hot, real hot. I am not amused. I left exactly one year ago to get away from this heat crap.

Saturday Evening LOL

Back from the showcase. It was… interesting…

Among the highlights:

[ul]
[li]Belly dance instructor doing a “belly dance” to a recording of Billie Holliday singing *Them There Eyes *[/li][li]Tap dance instructor doing a staccato speed tap routine to *American Pie *- the first part - the slow part…[/li][li]The tap dancer in the back row of the *Thriller *number, chewing gum [/li][li]The little bitty girl in the *Splish Splash, I was Takin’ a Bath *number who got distracted by the inflatable bathtub on stage and went over and started kicking it. :D[/li][/ul]

Yeah, it was quite a show. But well worth $5. Now I’m home in my robe chillin’…

It’s icky hot and humid here too, probably because it’s rained 50 gazillion times today. We managed to experience rain only while safely in the car, but that was a long series of lucky breaks.

Didn’t actually go through Wooster, Sticky, so I was unable to follow your itinerary. We went past the exit for 30 this time and took 71 to get from Quailcrest to Wade and Gatton because last time we took the back roads (i.e. not 71), we got amazingly lost. I’m happy to report we didn’t get lost one single time.

I managed to get several plants - OK about 10 of them, I think, nearly all perennials - and only spent $35. They had both nice plants and nice deals. I’m done buying plants, though, as I now have quite a backlog of plants that need to go in the ground and it’s hard to tell when that will be possible. I think it’s supposed to rain again tomorrow. Boo.

I’m tired now, and am going to be a slug for a bit.

Back later, perhaps.

gt are you like plantin’ all of Columbus? :stuck_out_tongue:

Back from the knot tyin’. The happy couple are now all hitched. It was HAWT out there! They supplied fans however with the names of the happy couple and the weddin’ party. Plus couzies (is that how that’s spelled?) with the bride’s and groom’s names and the weddin’ date on 'em. We collected several. What? They were just layin’ there and nobody had claimed 'em so before we left we decided to give them a good home. We’re all nice like that to homeless couzies (or however that’s spelled). It was nice though. The eats were good and I only had two beers cause I was DD and all.

My first words on enterin’ da cave were, “Thank You Jesus for AC!”

ETA: Google says they are spelled “koozie”. Now you know. Ignorance fought like a true Doper!

I’m…tired. It’s been a gut-wrenching and emotional day for me.

I posted a thread here:http://boardstest.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=566900.

{{{Taters}}}

Aw, Taters, I’m so sorry. I know how you feel.

{{{Taters}}}

Lots of hugs for Taters and family.

Yes, swampy, I am planting all of Columbus. OK, that’s what it feels like this week.

I had to look up koozie to find out what one was.

Fell asleep pretty early and actually slept till 7, almost. Trying to get inspired to get up since it looks like this morning might be not horrible outside.

Back later…

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. Soon I must purtify for deheathenization. I think I shall be riddin’ my heathen ways solo today. Sump’n was said last night re wantin’ to sleep in by a certain someone who is still abed as I post. Of course, he looks so angelic all asleep how could he possibly need to be deheathenated. I know, yeah right!

Rumbly tummy demands to be fed.

Later Y’all!
