The MMP People Finder (MMP)

Took nap. Still tired. doggio not working today? Pronouns lost.

I knew it!! :: backs away slowly ::

I suppose I should haul my ass off to Minister’s Lad’s place for the Superbowl get-together. The commercials better be hilarious, because I’ll probably nod off during the actual game. Last year when I watched I actually had some knowledge of how it all worked but I haven’t seen a game since so it’s all flown out the window.

Hmm, perhaps Winky would be better than Dobby. But that’s the general idea, a house elf. I’ll leave it to our better nickers (hee! she said “knickers!”) to come up with the proper brownie = elf = house elf name for Brown Eyed Girl. (Although every time I see your name, I get that lovely Van Morrison earworm. Am I dating myself?)

I just woke up after a 2.5 hour nap on the couch. Apparently I really WAS tired. Last (fifth) load of laundry is in the washer, however, and three other loads have been folded/hung up/put away; fourth load is in the dryer. Now I’m drinking a cup of coffee to try to wake up enough to get my work done this evening since I snored the afternoon away!

I just finished our taxes - I love online filing! We get money back from the state - just a wee bit more than we owe the Feds, so it’s good. Slight net gain, but not enough that I feel like the gov’t has had use of our money for free.

**FCD ** reports that the kitteh apparently feels the comb belongs on the floor, not on the sink. He’s picked it up 3 times today! We were warned that bengals like to knock stuff down - we witnessed it at the rescue house yesterday. Yep, it’s true.

It seems like it’s laundry day in the MMP. I’ve got two loads in the washer and two in the dryer with only towels to go. Huzzah for an apartment building with two washers/dryers right across the hall from my apartment. Out of curiosity, what does MMP stand for anyway?

It’s all good with the nicknames. I’ve always had nicknames. I tell people that I’ll answer to any semblance of my name as long as it isn’t derogatory. I’m interested to see who I end up as.

On one hand it seems like it’s been a productive day–got some cleaning done, not as much as I wanted, but sometimes I set my expectations too high. On the other hand, I feel like I didn’t get enough done because I didn’t do everything I wanted. Again, probably because I set my expectations too high. I’m not always good at moderation.

FCM congrats on the “kitteh.” I love animals and have always had a pet, but unfortunately my apt. building doesn’t allow them. Also, my SO has never had a pet. :frowning: So, I’m going to do some vicarious living through those of you who are blessed with animals.

I would just like to say that I hate football. It’s my favorite game of the year because after it there’s no more freakin’ football! I’ll probably end up curled in my papasan chair with a book or something.

Time to check the laundry.

Am back from the library where as part of my practicum I got to observe how librarians handle difficult patrons: they hide in a back office (where I was doing my inputting like a good drone). Too funny. Also funny–the woman driving them crazy was a woman I used to know–who was never nice to me (The Husband and her son were very good friends in HS, so I saw this woman quite a bit). She once told me to my face that she felt sorry for me because my parents were divorced. Just out of the blue. I was 17 and she ticked me right off. So, today, as I watched her do her whole entitled rudeness thang on 2 Reference librarians, I had to laugh.

And no, I did not go up to her and say hello. Don’t stick your hand in the crazy is my motto.
I will watch part of the Super[del]boring[/del]bowl, only because I am not sure when it ends and House is on right after it. I had a chocolate chip muffin for dinner. Just thought I’d share.

**MMousie ** - MMP = Monday Morning Post. We take turns starting MMP threads so we can keep up with each other, share assorted stuff, and prevent MPSIMS from becoming overly cluttered with too many overly mundane threads. Like my sig says…

just talked to my parents - they are as nuts as always. Love them.  It was my sisters birthday on Friday and she has managed to stretch out the celebrations from Wednesday last week through till tomorrow night. Crazy girl!

Last load of laundry is in the dryer - I think I will have to run my comforter through the dryer again though. It keeps raining here - it was so dark I had to put the lights on a little while ago. It never raisn here.

I am off to sort out my closets full of clothes!

Forgot to add that I wanted to spend some time with Haze. That was the one bummer last night–I really liked talking to WhyNot and Sarahfeena and (everybody else whose names I have forgotten, but whose faces I now know) I will now PM her and we shall gossip and giggle in the corner like girls should.

Is killing your husband considered homicide or justifiable manslaughter? It’s not that he’s done anything horrid; he’s just on my nerve (I only have one).

Just took a load of laundry out of the dryer, and debating if I should do another today or wait until later in the week. Chicken is marinating for dinner, and I’m trying to decide when and where I should go grocery shopping tomorrow.

Bear in mind, I’m not a photographer: Kitteh Pics!!!

Good Dog!

Oh, Dog is beautiful! It sounds like he’s going to be LOTS of fun! Hehehe!

Dinner is et, more laundry is folded/hung up/put away, and now I’m sitting here telling myself to get my behind in gear and get some work done since tomorrow’s deadline really is carved in stone. I’ll make it; I just need to wake up a bit more first. I sure hope I manage to wake up before bedtime – I never meant to take such a long nap, it really got me all out of whack!

Love the kitteh pics! Dog is so cute!!

Not doing laundry here today, that is tomorrow.

Today has consisted of going to a movie (27 Dresses, it was ok), going out to lunch/dinner, and now working on Valentine’s. I’ve finally got everything cut out and am now ready to start the assembly process!

SQUEEEEEEEEE!
I love the middle shot - so pettable!

Hmmm… Where to start. There’s lots of catching up and I didn’t even think that I was gone that long.

Maybe I’ll work my way backwards. Cute kitteh, FCM. And your bedspread/comforter matches pillowcases that TVMan has.

Personally, I think that Dobby is a great nickname. Eek! is also a good one, too.
**
Dobby**, TVMan is taking Chantix right now. If you’re willing to start out cold turkey, then you’ll be better off than he is. He’s been on it for over a month and is still smoking, but he’s been cutting back everyday and should be smoke-free by next week sometime. Hang in there!!!

Shadow, can I trade TVMan for your cats? He’s weird too. After all of yesterday’s antics, he didn’t want me to go home today.

Noonie, I don’t suppose you’re talking about the musical **I Do! I Do! ** There’s a song in with lyrics that are something like, ‘Nobody’s pefect… Not you!’ Seeing as you’re a guy, though, that’s probably not what you’re referring to.

rosie, fish meatloaf sounds MUCH WORSE. It’s kind of like describing kugel as noodle pudding. Sounds totally blech.

rigs, too much Lexapro made me apathetic, too little lexapro made me depressed. There never really was a ‘just right’ amount for me.

Whew! Well, I’m back in Pieland now. I’m very tired. I should be doing paperwork right now, but I really, really don’t want to.

Aw, pretteh kitteh! He looks like he has soft silky furs.

I’m hiding in my room tonight. I’ve been highly disappointed in former friend Alex (of Pit Thread fame–do a search threads started in my name last October) who is being a dick. It’s rubbing off on my buddy Kate who was tolerable before she decided that now that she’s 24 it’s time to get that biological clock tickin’. Because, you know, she’ll be too old to have babies in a few years. I got no time for their shiznit right now. Add that to my LJ buddy who’s dating my ex and really needs to get a room and I’m thinking it’s a good thing I have new friends & acquaintances so I don’t have to depend on the old dramatic people.

I did not mean to go off on a rant. Sorry 'bout that. goes back to look at kitteh pictures

In other news, there is no other news. Except I need to call my dad. Off to do that now.

Mmm…Dobby’s not doing anything for me. I may be tormented but not abused. Winky reminds me of an unfortunate nickname for a…um, shall we say…male part.

But you hit the nail on the head with the Van Morrison reference, Mama. When I was young, I thought he was singing it to me (of course, I giggled hysterically at the “making love in the green grass” lyric). I seem to remember that it was preferable to have blue eyes back then and I kinda felt like an ugly duckling as a child. So, Brown Eyed Girl became my anthem.

Come on, now, I’m giving you lots of hints as to what to make of me. Surely, you can find a nickname that fits.

Just FYI-my personal connection with Winky has nothing to do with either the male member or the female counterpart.

I decided to vacuum, since I haven’t in a while because the vacuum’s belt came off. The Husband, since it’s halftime, came up and affixed the belt to the proper whatever it’s called. I commenced vacuuming.

I got the whole downstairs done and started up the stairs. Half way up, a VERY bright white light shone up at me, my leg felt very warm, the lights dimmed and smoke billowed out of the vacuum. It started to make an odd noise (or two). I turned it off. I had Daughter unplug it (I was stuck on the stairs). The Husband came up from the basement because of the lights dimming. We now need a new vacuum.

This one didn’t last very long. It was also in the range of $300. I am mildly pissed–mostly because the upstairs carpet is just plain filthy with cat hair and kid hair etc and I wanted to finish. Now I have to go to Target tomorrow and purchase a new one. This one was like the Dyson and I loved it. It worked really well, just not for very long (maybe 3 -5 years?). Argh.

Tom Petty seems kinda dull after all that excitement. Is now snowing outside to beat the band (wtf does that mean, anyway?). The house stinks of burning rubber, burned oil and burned metal. Blech.

Oh, and I’m fine–thanks for asking…

I’m afraid I didn’t make it today. :frowning: I’ll try again tomorrow, but it looks like Chantix is the way to go. You keep smoking while taking it? I think I need to read up more on this stuff.

BTW, LurkMeister nailed it ! Awesome movie.
