The most '80s image

It’s competition time. The challenge is this - I show an image* from the '80s to 100,000 random Americans and ask them what decade it’s from. The one that has the most correct answers, wins.

*image rules;

  • **Must **be taken from the 80s. No modern stuff dolled up to look 80s!
  • No collages, a single still image only. Film stills and illustration are ok.
  • Image must have no writing on it, to stop cheating!

Here’s my entry for you to beat - Reagan with Gorbachev from 1986.

Film still are OK? Alright then, I propose this one

Any of these might work.

Pretty much anything by Patrick Nagel…as a specific choice, I’d go with this one, for not only being in Nagel’s iconic style, but having her in some very-80s fashion.

I nominate this album cover

Not bad, but I’ll go in a different direction.

Commendable effort, but it’s missing something.

I think I would associate that one with the 1980s. But this one is an even safer bet!

Please describe the image so we know without clicking. People may quote you and it would suck to have to repeatedly click the image to see what they are talking about.
Micky and Ronny may be the substantive answer.
Here’s one that is more pop culture.
Crockett and Tubbs on the hood of the Daytona looking as sharp as the 80s get.

Mine was E.T. with a black Michael Jackson.

This MTV logo

The Calvin Klein Times Square underwear guy. Too homoerotic for any earlier era, too tightie whitie for any later, and the blow dried hair clinches it.

Disqualified due to writing! Although the inside flap of Thriller would be acceptable.

I think technology would be the best clue, and you can’t get more 80s than cassette tapes.

Challenger Explosion

I’d pick a frame from an 80s action movie with 80s hair. Something from the first Terminator movie, for example.

Nothing is more 80s than Poison at their most hair-sprayed.

The answer is Rio by Duran Duran.

How about Marty and Doc Brown?

Challenger explosion (specifically, something showing the “Satan’s horns” smoke rings) was what sprang immediately to mind before I read the specs. But as a contest, then anything in which Reagan appears while obviously president is bound to score very high.
