The most beautiful thing ever....

I saw the love of my life on the way home. This is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, yes, even more so than Mandy. It was Fly Yellow, and it had Pininfarina inscrolled down the side, yes sir, it was a Ferrari 360 Modena F1 Coupé. This is the second one I have seen here in Boone, and I immediately did a u-turn and speed up to catch the Prancing Horse. When I got to it, it made a left turn into a bank, which I did as well. The guy double-parked his machine of wonder and tottered into the bank. I sat there, next to his $150,000 possession and couldn’t believe my eyes. When the man came back out, I spoke to him pithily about his stunning automobile, and the legacy that it carries on its shoulders. Then, he left just as quickly as he came, and I shadowed his moves. We left the bank, my window down so my ears could exult to the sounds of the melodious engine. I followed him until we reached some sort of Police Training facility, where I again sat a gazed as he was inside. He was in there for 30 minutes before I disappeared. I could ogle at the flowing lines on that magnificent steed all day. I have one problem though… I am not sure if I like the Coupé or the Spider better. This was the third time I have seen a Modena, and I love it more each time I see one. I still haven’t come in contact with a Spider, and I am sure they are even more exquisite than their portraits portray. What a day…

…a five-wood from 240 which hops to a stop six inches below the cup.

God I love cars! Seriously, I have no idea where this came from. Fast cars make my heart race. The more useless they are (i.e., can’t come out of the garage in any type of precipitation) the more excited I become.

There’s a place near me called, “Lotus Motor Sports” that not only has a Lotus in the showroom, but several other exotic classics, some of them very old and in pristine condition. People honk and show me the bird, but every time I drive by I slow down to a crawl so I can gawk.

I think I’ll go get MY baby out of the garage and take her for a spin.

I’m one of those women who don’t notice people’s cars. When my husband says “You know the girl I’m talking about; she drives the '92 Tercel.”, it means NOTHING to me.

$150,000 for a car??? You know what I thought when I read that: SUCKER!!

sucker??? sucker!!! are you kidding? I think it is worth $200,000 if you can afford it…obviously you have never seen a Modena…

First off, a Ferrari should be red. So let it be written, so let it be done.

Secondly, I like the current ones, but new Ferraris always catch the eye. It’s going to take me a bit longer to decide if the 360 Modena is one for the ages. And once in my life I’d like to see, just see, a 250LM.

Most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen: Monk metro station. I had chills.

Most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen: Chapelle de St Jean-Baptiste au Palais des Papes, Avignon. It was a moment of pure beauty that lasted longer than any other I’ve experienced.

Here ya go:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=576488232&r=0&t=0

There’s one going off in about half an hour for $175,000.00.

If I had I didn’t know it. Don’t even know what a Modena is. I have heard of a Lamborghini. Does that make you feel better?

Anyway, the only way I’d pony up $200,000 for a car is if an Armani-clad Gordon Sumner came with it.

A Ferrari?

Shelby Cobra for me, please.

Check out my baby: http://hometown.aol.com/sxywriter2/Page9.html

I’ll have to fix the size of this graphic. Kind of a crappy web page. But should give you some idea.

No applause…just throw gas money.

Well the most beautiful car ever would be a 2001 BMW M3 Coupe…

However, I digress…

for the most beautiful thing ever would be the female form. (for it is a work of pure insperation)

And Sexywriter Begat - “and it was good” (sorry, couldn’t resist after the yesterday)

Had a friend once who loved Lamborghinis. Me, I can’t even spell it. I soo prefer American muscle.
Actually, I’d LOVE to have an actual CART-style Indy car. If only there were a way to make a car that looked like that street-legal. I’d drive it just once, to Wal*Mart or something so people could ogle, then I’d take it home and park it in the barn and wash it every day and love it and hug it and feed it and call it… well, couldn’t call it George… I’d call it Greg.

SexyWriter that is a nice car…I have always loved those Jags… Tyklfe…those are smokers, but have you seen the M5s? That is a nice car. I saw one out in my neighborhood this afternoon, but I couldn’t find it after I turned around.

Whew I hear ya Lisa. It would be money well spent–but only if I could keep him for a while. :stuck_out_tongue:

To be honest, he could just show up on my doorstep without the Armani–without the car even and that would be just fine with me.

I’m one of those girls who doesn’t give a shit about cars either. As long as it is reliable, runs well and has some good music, it’s OK with me. I have a Grand Prix but only because my hubby picked it out. OTOH he drives an obscenely gussied-up Suburban-black with dark tinted windows, lots of chrome, and all the bells and whistles. It gets about 15 miles to the gallon if that. He thinks it’s just swell.
