The most unintentionally funny site ever!

Here’s another version by the State Merited People’s Chorus

Good stuff. Boy, those commies sure know how to throw a military parade.

You realize that by going to that site, the NSA is reading all your emails, and listening to your phone calls.

Okay, Karl, I’ll see your anthem and raise you a photo gallery filled with some creepy pasty white guys drooling all over statues of the “great leader” and North Korea’s crumbling infrastructure.

I’m not sensing any irony, which is frankly pretty scary stuff.

Astro

3,000 leagues? Wow that’s deep. (But nowhere near 20,000 leagues deep).

I think someone’s getting whooshed here. Us, Bjornar, or maybe even the good folks of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

But hey, there’s even a bowling alley! (hold on a sec, where are all the people’s bowlers?) “And a Volvo, too”, exclaims Bjornar (never mind that it’s thirty years old)

Wait, here they’re saying it’s a “fatherland”, and in KarlGauss’ link they’re saying it’s a “motherland”. Which one is it? I’m starting to think the North Koreans are having some gender-identification issues.

Tripler
Next thing you know, Kim Jong Il will be crossdressing in the DMZ.

I don’t know. If Jason here were trying to be a smart-ass, wouldn’t he go hump the legs of one of the statues or something instead of this:

Or this:

Awww, someone has a crush:

I’m sure that it helps when she’s worried that her family will end up starving to death if she doesn’t make out with our intrepid “Korean Friendship Explorers.”

KFA special guided tour - Book now, only 30 places available!

Hey, didja notice the commies take PayPal!

Is it just me, or do the anthem’s lyrics (thanks astro) have anyone else thinking of “Top Secret!”?

Nay, lad, the voyage of the Nautilus spanned 20,000 leagues, and it was under the sea. It wasn’t carried out at that depth; there ain’t no such animal. Verne knew what the diameter of the planet was (even if his science let him down sometimes. Okay, just about continually).

I was going to post the similarly terrible official website of Myanmar as comparison, but the bastards have upgraded it. Still, though:

Heh heh.

Malacandra
Since you are in the UK, you are probably unaware of an American TV show sketch which parodied “20,000 Leagues Under The Sea”.
The show was “Saturday Night Live” and here is the transcript:

So, I was referencing the parody - hence the “Big Grin” smilie.

(Just as you may have noticed others in this thread are talking about “more cowbell”. That is yet another “Saturday Night Live Sketch”.)

(What if they used a 20,000 league cowbell? )

But wait! Why use the official version when you can get your information straight from the horse’s mouth? I’m speaking, of course, about The Exalted Leader’s very own Livejournal.

From the “Notes” on that page:

Well, I guess I’m not going.

What exactly aren’t you willing to give up? The drugs? The weapons? The porno?

All three?

Fearless Leader is only one allowed drugs, weapons OR pr0n in Dipshit Republic of Korea.

What about prescription drugs?
I dunno, but I wouldn’t mind taking this tour if I could afford it.
Might be the last time we can see North Korea as it is today.

Actually, the trip is suprisingly affordable. $1800 Euros plus $440 Beijing-Pyongyang-Beijing airfare plus wherever you are to Beijing airfare.

Pretty much all inclusive.

If the country didn’t creep me out quite as much as it does, I might consider it more carefully. Also, doesn’t the State Department have a thing or two to say about this?
