The Movie Game II

I thought Malcolm McDowell had been used by now, but a search of the thread turned up no matches for his name.

If

Gave up and peeked at the IMDb listing – didn’t recognize a single name other than McDowell’s.

David Wood was in that.

As I said, didn’t recognize a single name other than McDowell’s…

Yes, I was hoping maybe Roger Thornhill would pop in and save us.

Unless someone is willing to go to the imdb well . . .

You know me, I’m not shy about … well, let’s not call it cheating, shall we? I checked this guy’s list yesterday and thought, “yanno, if the second item on the list is playing a body in a Sherlock Holmes flick I’ve never heard of…”

Effin’ Roger Thornhill. Whaddya expect from a cricketeer, though, eh?

Okay: David Wood was in Aces High, a 1976 WWI dogfight drama with a bunch of people I’ve heard of in it.

Do with that what you can.

**
Trevor Howard** was in that. I don’t know how I remember that. . .

That sounds interesting. I vaguely recall I had some sort of WWI dogfight game as a kid. Wow, that was so long ago I’d completely forgotten it. You’d do barrell rolls and loop the loops to get behind your opponent. Anyone else know what that might have been called?

As for Trevor Howard, the name sounds vaguely familiar, is he one of those guys who’s in a lot of Merchant and Ivory stuff? If so, then I’ll just toss out Gosforth Park on the off chance he was a butler or something in that…

Well, it’s Gosford Park and he died well before it was made. But now that I’ve checked on IMDB I’ve seen this guy in a lot of films; to me the most notable has to do with some guys who end up on an island in the Pacific.

Nope – that’s no good, since he died in '88. :stuck_out_tongue:

Which I discovered when I confirmed a fading memory that he played Bligh in Mutiny on the Bounty.

Good bluff – well, okay bluff. He died in '88. I’ll ignore his best-known film, another possibly ugly cul-de-sac, in favor of Mutiny on the Bounty. Which has an obvious open move. Finally.

I could have sworn I heard the hampsters burping with delight as they chowed down on the first of those two posts…

And they shat out . . .
Marlon Brando

Shat out comment referred to the hamsters comment, not to Brando’s ouevre.

The Island of Dr Moreau

Jeez freakin’ louise, aesiron, you could have picked something that someone other than you has seen!

Burt Lancaster

I’ve never seen it, actually… I just know he’s in it and it was the first movie of his I thought of.

My knowledge of classic cinema is pretty sketchy.
