The Mummy 3(trailer inside)

I would not have expected another sequel to the Mummy movies, but here it is. Anyway, the new trailer is up and it actually makes the movie look good.

I’m so hoping this is a good movie. My wife and I like the first one and tolerated the second one.

By the way, why is Papa John’s hosting the trailer?

Opinions?

I like Brendan Fraser. I usually like his movies. I personally think he’s a good actor. So why isn’t he in better movies? Is it his own undoing? Does he choose poorly, or does he just not get offered the good parts?

As much as I like Maria Bello, I’m sorry but Rachel Weisz will always be Evelyn.

Yeah, I was highly disappointed that she hadn’t come to reprise her role as well.

I will be there opening day to see it, although I am sorely disappointed Rachel Weisz is not going to be in it.

Eh, it looks fun, but the trailer also looks like a spoof of a dozen other recent action/martial arts movies.

I’ll see it of course, and probably end up buying it.

I’m also part of the crowd that liked The Mummy movies (second one was also tolerated). When I saw Brendon kissing the woman I got frightened, that it was one of those movies where the two lovebirds end up separating. I’m glad that they kept the family intact, also disappointed that Rachel Weisz isn’t back.

Elements of it seem to remind me of the storyline of the game Tomb Raider 2.

Points for educating folks that other cultures than Egypt actually practiced mummification.

I liked the first mummy movie, it reminded me a lot of the fun of Indiana Jones. The second one wasn’t bad either. Im glad theres a third coming.

They also just (confusingly) completed a sequel to The Scorpion King - which was a prequel to The Mummy. Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Randy Couture is in it.

Yes, I don’t know why they recast instead of eliminating the character.

Oh, they put in some random Asian elements into it? How original!

Gossip says she didn’t want to leave her kid to film in China, but also she was furious to play the mother of a 21-year-old kid.

If the latter, I say kill her off, the old bag. But, it’s such a wholesome nuclear family movie they probably didn’t want to deal with dad remarrying or something.

I enjoyed the first Mummy movie but I didn’t enjoy the second one very much. I think I’ll pass on this one.
