The Music Review Game

Here’s the idea:

You look at the bottom of last post made in this thread, and (if you haven’t heard the song mentioned), go to Napster and download it. After you listen to the song give a little review of it. Then name another song, (artist and title), for someone else to review. Any type of music is applicible in the game.

Don’t worry about simulposts, just do the last song you see.

I’ll start,

Song: Trademark
By: Eric Johnson

It was ok. I am not much for instrumentals, so i only downloaded the first third - it takes FOREVER for me to d/l a whole song!

I liked it though, it was a unique sound, like something from a soundtrack. It seemed to be trying to paint me a picture but I wasnt totally sure what the picture was.

My pick:

“Smoke rings in the dark”
Gary Allen

Lord, I LOVE that song. Gary Allan’s voice gives me shivers. I don’t know WHY. Nice achey tenor. I like the feel of “Smoke Rings,” it somehow reminds me of black and white movies, film noir or something.

Nickel Creek, “When You Come Back Down”

The singer in Nickel Creek has a smooth voice. The fiddle’s pretty too. I don’t really like country much though. It wouldn’t make me jump to change the station if someone else was listening to it so I guess it’s ok.

Cheap Trick Say Goodbye

First of all, SoMoMom rules for quoting Bono. Moving right along,

I’d never heard anything by Cheap Trick, and they reminded me, a little, of U2. The melodies, and the lyrics are remeniscent of my Irish Fab Four. I’d listen to more of them.

Take That Relight My Fire

Couldn’t you just wait for a song that you have heard before rushing off to Napster like a chicken with its head cut off? (BTW, i do plan on reviewing, so don’t chop MY head off…:))

Aretha Franklin.

I’m a moron. Ignore me.
