The music video is not dead! Great modern music videos.

LMFAO is pretty awesome. I’ve only seen Party Rock Anthem’s and Sexy And I Know It’s videos, but they’re both hilarious and awesome. (Also borderline NSFW.)

Those are both good, but when it comes to OK Go videos it’s all about White Knuckles.

Kasabian - “Days are Forgotten” is a pretty good video.

So is “Lights” by Ellie Goulding.

I like MuteMath’s “Blood Pressure” but my wife thinks it’s too much like “Everybody Have Fun Tonight” by Wang Chung.

If you like vintage video games you’ll probably also like the video for Happy up Here by Röyksopp.

of Montreal has been making cool/interesting videos for a while, but I like this one: Coquette Coquette

Oh, how could I forget this one?

Crossed Wires - Superchunk

Funniest video in years.

Another funny one (for fans of the movie Rushmore):

Oscar Wilde - Company of Thieves

The video for “Blow” has everything: Kesha making out with a unicorn; the parliament of Uzbekistan; edible lactose gold; James van der Beek removing his bra; and the final battle between James van der Douche and Ke-Dollar Sign-Ha in which unicorns bleed rainbows.

This was released about a year ago. Since then, I’ve gone into Kesha withdrawal, as she hasn’t released any more songs since then. Not to worry: her next album is due in May!

I thought the video for Yellow was pretty awesome. The single shot style while the night turns into day was pretty cool. I don’t know how hey did t.

Another funny one:

Tighten Up - The Black Keys

Creative technique:

Victory - Trampled By Turtles

Speaking of The Black Keys, “Lonely Boy” is just a guy dancing in front of a hotel, but it’s pretty entertaining.

The correct answer to any question involving music videos made after 1986 is “Fight for Your Right (revisited)”, the Beastie Boys’ damn-near feature-length video for several songs off their awesome album Hot Sauce Committe Pt 2.

Danny McBride, Seth Rogen, and fucking Frodo, playing the Beasties as scofflaws an ne’er-do-wells, circa '86, who run into their future selves and get into a danceoff-cum-pissing match (literally). Plus Will Ferrell plays a creepy cowbell-playing mariachi. If that doesn’t grab you by the short hairs, then you must not have any yet.

Wow - after watching the first half of that video, I thought about calling in the kids to watch it - a bit edgy, but nothing that would scar them. Plus they enjoy teh kittehz videos, and nutshots are funny at all ages.

I’m glad I watched the second half before playing it for them though -:eek::eek:

Thanks for that I Made French Toast For You, it was intriguing. Can you briefly explain to this idiot what’s interactive and personalized about the video? Thanks. (It was nice to watch - just not sure I got what was going on)

I like Chairlift’s Evident Utensil, which makes beautiful use of artifacts you’d normally expect to see only from digital streaming or I/O errors.

The source code’s also available in the video itself.

It reminds me of the video for Junior Senior’s “Move Your Feet”, which has 8-bit style graphics created using Deluxe Paint on an Amiga. The video’s from 2003; does that count as “modern” enough for the OP?

I’m sorry, but the correct answer is Needing/Getting. :stuck_out_tongue:

This is probably NSFW, but Toe Jam is a fun video.

Very happily seconded.

Cobra Starship’s “You Make Me Feel” is a great song, with a video that tells a nice little romantic story. See if you can recognize the Hollywood star, and that star’s offspring: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpyZEzrDf4c&ob=av2e

OK Go has brought in a new revival in creative video making. Another of my favs from them: End Love.

This has been around for a while, but if you like effed up, twisted, and dark, you can never go wrong with Aphex Twin/Chris Cunningham: Rubber Johnny.

And another amazing video by Chris Cunningham, Björk’s All is Full of Love.
