It reminds me of AOL with its look and feel. This is a Bad Thing. The smileys now look like total ass and I’d be embarassed to use them in a post. Too cheesy.

The whole point of that emoticon was that it was mean-spirited. Sure, it got on my nerves from time to time but there are some cases where the old nasty rolleyes, standing alone and defiant under a quoted post was the perfect response. I, for one, will miss him. Personally, I blame Windows XP for all of this pastel, shiny and bulbous crap.

For anyone who doesn’t like the blue roundness of sillyness, right-click on the desktop, choose Properties, click on the appearance tab, and select “Windows Classic Style” under “Windows and buttons”.

I like the new look, seems more modern and pleasing to the eyes but it needs some polishing. I hope that gets done in the next few hours. Also some graphics are a bit too cheesy and cutesy (those stupid letters everywhere).

Can we please get rid of the putz smiley? I hate that fucker.

The new graphics don’t look well intergated into the rest of the site for me. In fact, some of the graphics even look like they were made to be shown on a different colored background. The colors just aren’t quite right somehow.

When I was a boy, we didn’t have these fancy colored smiley faces. We only had one color of icon back then, black, and we had to make them ourselves out of punctuation marks. And we were grateful!

Ah, now I’m on the office computer, which runs on an elderly version of NT – over five years old. And it’s giving me the New! Improved! smilies.

When I go home tonight I may tinker with my properties settings --currently my home machine is on Windows XP. Maybe if I change it to Windows Classic I’ll see the difference in the Dope.

The new smilies don’t bother me. is clearer now, and so are and :mad: . I think :o gets its message across better now.

Just as long as nobody ever takes away :dubious: and :smack: !!!

I really did just start the pit because I thought it was funny to pit the new look 5 minutes after I could log back on.

Personally, I like this guy:
