The new TV season

It’s OK, I appreciate the info…

(When I saw how Two Many Cats was able to watch it last night I thought that maybe there was a quick, easy free way to check it out. If I recall, the father from Malcolm In The Middle is the lead actor on Breaking Bad)

Terra Nova has cancel written all over it. There have been shows like this every few years since I was a kid. Big budget sci-fi, if it doesn’t pull in big ratings it will die a quick death.

Whitney actually looks ok to me, not sure what is bugging most everyone else.

Looking forward to BBT and Community again. That’s about it.

Whitney looks hilarious. I can’t understand all the hate.

I just got the fall TV issue of Entertainment Weekly and now I am psyched to see Up All Night, American Horror Story, and Terra Nova. (I’m also interested to see what happens with Grey’s Anatomy as half the cast is or was chomping at the bit to leave. When Sandra Oh goes, so do I.)

I know they want to cash in on the Jurassic Park thing and have dinosaurs and everything, but I’d be much more interested in seeing a show where they went back in time maybe 50,000 years ago. Or 500,000. Anytime when we’d be encountering our upright human ancestors.

Yeh, I was surprised too, but there are plenty of ways (both legit if you’re willing to pay, and… no so legit).

If you’re willing to cough up $3 (and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed) you can always buy the pilot over iTunes, then rent the DVDs if it’s your thing.

(or just pony up the $18 for the first season?)

Oh lord… I don’t ask for much, but I can only take one Losts in my lifetime.

But I think this has some legs to it; seems very emotional and enthralling.

People, take the Breaking Bad discussion elsewhere, it’s off-topic in this thread, as is snark about other people’s taste in TV.

Thanks,

Returning shows:
Fringe, NCIS, Psych, Castle, Mentalist. The last if I can figure out how to watch it. I don’t have a tv; I get shows that interest me online; I haven’t found a way to get that one yet. I won’t see season three until the DVD comes out on the 20th.
New shows:
I’ll watch for what people here recommend, and check them out.

Ahem. There’s no irony here. I don’t object to programs showing sitting and talking as long as it’s worth listening to.

I apologize twickster, but I had to defend my honor here. I’ll go back to the other thread now.

The Secret Circle, but only because I was a huge L.J. Smith fan in high school. I watched half of the first season of The Vampire Diaries before giving up, and I owe this one the same shot.

I saw Picker Sisters and was greatly amused. Two attractive women in short-shorts gushing about how nice these 75 year old men are for letting them rummage through their scrapyard and give them great deals.

That said, I legitimately found it more interesting than American Pickers if only for the conversion-to-household-decor aspects/segments.

Holy crap, American Pickers was neat enough already but substituting 2 hot chicks in shorts, that’s genius!

Where the hell is 30 Rock?

Terry O’Quinn landing on Hawaii 5-0 sparks my interest. It gets Tivo’d as well.

I know!?

And I can’t be the ONLY person looking forward to see how The Office comes back.

Wikipedia says that 30 Rock won’t start until midseason because Tina Fey is pregnant.

And I’m looking forward to The Good Wife and The Mentalist, because of the cliffhanger ending last season. I want to know where they’re going with this storyline.

The Onion AV Club has posted its two-part preview of new shows here and here.

Among things not yet discussed here, I think the most promising is Free Agents. Love me some Anthony Stewart Head.

blastr (part of the SyFy family) has a three-part series on cancelled, new and renewed Sci-Fi and similar series.

Reading the Onion articles, there doesn’t seem to be much that screams “watch me”! All I could think of was the earlier thread here on the SD about what TV shows we, the readers, would like to see. There were really good ideas in that thread.
