Blues will comeback with a MUCH stronger effort in game 2. They looked sooo rusty in the 1st game, kinda reminded me of the San Jose series, but they will get back to form and handle the Avs, like we know they can.

I expect, even hope for, a better game from the Blues. The Blues are a high quality team, and with the rust gone from a 9 day layoff.
Being an Avs fan I hope for the Avs to win it all, but I am above all a hockey fan. I live for this time of year. Playoff hockey is the best spectator sport on earth, hands down. During the off seasion I have to be given methadone to make it until the next seasion begins.

I’m not one to make excuses…but what the fuck was up with that penalty call?! I mean, common!!! A 4 minute double minor with less then 3 minutes to go in regulation, are the refs on fuckin crack?! Hejduk and Khavy where goin at each other the entire shift, but nooooo they had to give it to Khavy, mother fudgers!!! Oh, and don’t even get me started on the constant ass raping that Foote got away with on Keith, absolute bs. I’ve totally lost all respect i had for the Avs, well not for all their players, but some of em at the least. This series was basically won in the 1st game, when the refs gave the penalty shot to Sakic on that piss of crap call…jesus christ almighty, i am beyond pissed, maybe i should go went on the BBQ pit.
One, very pieved Blues Fan…everybody else is to blame, but the blues…thank you…and good night…
P.S. Oh…and please stop with the “Win it for Bourque” crap, just gives me more reason that the league wants Lemeiux and Bourque in the finals to boost rating…and shun the small market teams as much as possible, ie the Blues. Vent is now…over.

See, the thing is, if you look at the replay he didn’t throw the stick, until after he blocked the shot. I’d see it as a valid call, if he stopped the puck by throwing the stick at it. In this case, turek lunged with the stick, stopped the shot, and a split second later he lost the grip on it and it flew out of his hand.

I agree with you Katisha. The only thing worse for Red Wings fans would be a Colorado/Toronto final with Colorado winning the Cup.
I’m still hoping Mario and company win (they’ve come back from 3-1 series deficits twice in the 90s so there is some chance). Otherwise, I think I’ll boycott the finals.

Mario Lemieux sat in a box watching his team lose the first game and he sat in a box watching his team lose the last one. Of course, one was the owner’s box and one was the penalty box but still, it was pretty sweet.

I don’t usually watch the NHL on TV during the regular season, but playoff hockey is second to none in terms of excitement. There is no putzing around like other sports’ playoffs. Every time a hit is lined up, it is taken. I think it has to be one of the most exhausting sports out there. I’m hooked.
And isn’t it ironic Mario was the one who moaned so much about stick fouls and cheap shots and he gets caught slashing?
I promised I wasn’t going to throw myself down in the muck regarding Mario, but Evilbeth opened the door and now I can.

I’m losing the game! My team can’t count on me to be the savior after all! So I’m just going to throw some cheap shots at some guy fifty miles away from the puck and pout for the rest of the game.
