The Nun Bun Theft

Has anyone heard about the Nun Bun theft in Chicago? It got me wondering if it was created by ID or was it by chance? Personally I would think Mother theresa would be offended because to me it looks like a witch’s face, and see little resemblance to Mother Theresa.

Yes, I have heard of the Nun Bun theft. It’s just another case of folk seeing coincidental similarities relating to religious belief, in everyday objects.

Well, it was here in Nashville, at Bongo Java. From the stories, it was created by chance, someone just noticed it.

Having seen it in person, it was at least a vague resemblance. Too bad someone had to steal it, it was a neat little display.

They were talking about this on Today yesterday, and said when it first came to light in 1996 (I think that was the year) , Mother Teresa called them directly and said she did not want her name associated with it , and this is why it became known as the Nun Bun.

Well, the letter that they had displayed with it stated that she didn’t mind the bun so much, but they were selling Nun Bun T-shirts, profiting off her name. She asked them to stop that.

The Nun Bun-nappers have sent a photo!

Obviously a misguided member of the Church hierarchy is trying to suppress an ancient baking secret.

Call in Tom Hanks! He’ll track it down!

This one strikes me as better suited to MPSIMS, so let’s move it there.

I thought the thread title was ‘Nun Bum Theft’. That sounded much more interesting.

Oh wait, that IS Mother Teresa.
