The obligatory new Kitty thread, yes - with pictures!!!!

Boo’s a girl  …but that sneer? Ever so apt.

Socute.

Is it just a trick of the light, or does the cat in the OP have that condition where the two eyes are a different color?

Sweet kitty!

Wow, Cuervo grew up handsome. He looks a lot like our Cobalt (well, maybe a little thinner - the vet just put poor Cobalt on a diet).

Yay MBG! BooBear is sooooo cute!

Congrats on adopting a new fur face.

Cuervo looks so intellegent in that picture and your new “Bear” looks so handsome.

We call our lastest cat Beastie Bear. It fits his split personality.

Aww, he’s gorgeous! I’m so glad you got him – I can’t wait to hear about the adventures of a four-cat household!

At some point, while tossing about Bear-related names (Devin, Payton…) the daughter suggested Lovie. The women in the room all jumped at it, I consider that to be much too foofy and girlie to be a good cat’s name. I resolved to never call him that, and so he will be Bear.

He is a very lovey cat though - he refuses to get into confrontations with the others. They stare at him, growl, hiss and he just sits there befuddled. The others are actively ignoring him, leaving him to have the run of the house. And here, I thought I had tough cats, turns out they’re all just a bunch of sissies. I told Cuervo he’d better re-establish his alpha male status quick, because by this time next week, this cat is going to be about 6 times Cuervo’s size. He just purrs and licks my face.

More pictures later.

Congrats! We just got a new one almost a month ago and he is fitting in so well. Hanna is the only one who still hisses at him, but she gets so jealous.

I would have named him Brett.

Bumpishness…

It’s been 10 days.

He’s been to the vet, and Dr. Laura (I know, but this Dr. Laura’s kinda cute…) says he has a little of a respiratory thing going on (sneezing), a few ear mites and probably a worm. Nothing she doesn’t expect from a shelter cat. And no real worries to the others. He’s getting Amoxycillin, and some ear goop and doesn’t even mind that.

He’s amazingly active, and YES, Cuervo and he are becoming pals. They chase each other all over the house, there’s no anger or hostility, They both love it. In fact, Bear is the least aggressive cat I’ve ever seen, all he wants to do is run and play, he never seems to respond to Cuervo trying to paw-bop him.

Cuervo still sleeps with me, and doesn’t let Bear on the bed. He’s very possessive of me, and I’m careful to let Cuervo know he’s my boy, while Bear loves everyone, so he gets LOTS of attention from everyone else. We had about 15-20 people over this Saturday to watch football and he spent the whole day and night hopping from lap to lap.

“I don’t like cats, but this one’s really nice, if I knew I’d get one like this…” The same line we always heard about Ernie, the Best Cat Ever, who was a Maine Coon also.

Right now, it’s 11:50 PM, and I keep having to duck because they’re running across me like I’m part of the obstacle course.

I got an e-mail back from the lady at the shelter who told me that Bear was a foster in her house for a month or two, and he got along with every cat in their house, so she’s not surprised he’s doing well here. Guess I did good, huh?

You did very “good”. It’s always a pleasure to have a social cat. Mine are social at times, at other times, not. Molly loves people, so after she’s had a few minutes to be sure any newcomers aren’t going to eat her, she makes the rounds for pettin’s. Rio will casually saunter through the room, and maybe deign to let a newcomer pet him. Punky takes a good bit longer to decide newcomers are not threats.

Squeeeeee! Cute little black kitty! I love black cats.

Good to see Cuervo doing well, too.

Exactly the same thing is going on here! Isabel and Manny are best buddies and chase each other and wrestle and give each other baths.

My daughter gives Bear an aww cute. Congrats on the new addition.

Jim (Ok, I’ll give him an aww cute too)

You call that a tail? Ha! Now this is a tail!

Congratulations on your Maine Coon, from our Maine Coon, Oscar . I feel I’ve been far overdue in posting his pics. He’s the shelter cat I talked about in this entirely unsuccessful thread .

And I second the acting like dogs part. Oski loves to roll over, although rub that belly, and you’re deader than dead!

The Neville kitties chase each other around the house, give each other baths, and curl up to sleep together. There are occasional hisses and swipes (usually I think it’s Katya wanting to play when Luna wants to be left alone to sleep), but they are friends.

Luna is a Siamese-and-God-alone-knows-what-else mix (a Petco clerk once asked if she had some Maine Coon in her- for all I know, she might), and she follows me around the house just like a little puppy dog. Doglike cats are great, aren’t they?

Cuuuuute! He looks almost just like Piper Grace, only with long hair.

Cuervo as a kitten looks JUST Like my Buffy did-right down to the Christmas tree picture.

And Marty looks just like our old cat, Fluffy.

May you have lots of fun kitty adventures and photo-ops. And may he cause you as much trouble as mine have caused me.

Aaaw! He looks just like my Maine Coon. So much alike there’s no point in posting a pic. Well I also need to upload some good picks of her too. Oh fine, here ya go. Herself She doesn’t like getting her picture taken so she always has a grumpy look on her face even though she’s such a sweety.

My girl is one of four cats. Her name is Kelsey Ann. At least that’s what I called her the day I picked her up at the Humane Society. After she got settled in her name became "KELSEY! GODDAMMIT NO! Her tail is beautiful. When she was a kitten fold back across her back and over her face. Now it just reaches the top of her head. I love it.

Doesn’t Mama love the baby? Doesn’t she? Who loves Kelsey? Mama does, that’s who. Yes her does.

Ahem. Your kitty is awesome. Good on you for rescuing another one.

I LOVE HIM.

And I like his name…I know a black dog named Bear.

We need a kitty smiley around here.
