LOVED this episode. Unfortunately my signal was going in and out (TWSS), so I might have missed a joke or two. Speaking of, what was it Dwight said? “Is this a joke? I’m getting that anxious feeling that often accompanies jokes,” or something like that. That had me on the floor, it says so much about Dwight.

As for Angela, my husband was asking what her plan is, too. I think they’re writing it like she can’t help her attraction to Dwight, and the Andy engagement was an attempt to stamp that out, but it’s having the opposite effect - whenever talk of the wedding gets real, she either comes up with some impossible roadblock, has a warehouse call with Dwight, or both. But I don’t think she’s deliberately planning these things, it’s just her subconscious desires coming out and drawing her toward Dwight in irrational ways.

I adored Dwight’s completely calm and happy presentation to the couple. Even though he’s a tool, I want him to get the girl.

The entire sequence where Jim noticed Michael’s mug, then looked around for others, then frantically opened all the break room cabinets to find Oscar’s, was genius.

And Michael was also sympathic to Kelly because no one ever came to his parties and he always ended up with tons of guacamole!

Actually that’s a HUGE legal risk to the company and probably far worse than Kelly’s stunt.

I like how every time someone talks to Ryan he starts to wax on and on philosophically about his time as VP up at Corporate.

'I don’t play the politics game anymore. Back when I was a VP up in Corporate I use to play with the best of them. Played it hard." or something like that.

Sometimes fiction can mirror real life and I was amused because this is very like the dynamics of that geographical area which is so close to the big apple. I grew up just 60 miles north of Scranton and I can tell you there are two types of people from there…those who can’t wait to get out of town and those who never ever entertain the thought of living anywhere else.

I just feel a need to point out that I predicted the Jim / Pam tension.
Also, what about Dwights celebratory karate kicks?

D’oh! I thought Angela was describing something impossible for Andy to find–like the 1000-year-old church in America. Not till this thread did I realize **her steering **Andy to Shrute Beet Farm.

The bluetooth thing creeped me out–it’s just not healthy to be attached to someone all day!

Yet corporate did not care because it made them money and no one was harmed, whereas Kelly was lashing out and sabotaging two people’s bonuses over an America’s Got Talent party. I’m not saying Meredith shouldn’t have had consequences, but Kelly definitely should have. If someone did that to me, I’d be pissed as hell, wouldn’t you?

The Kelly bit was really fucked up. Dwight overreacted but justifiably so.

He was asking her out. In a very indirect way, but he was asking her out. First he told her that there was going to be a great wine and cheese spread at an art gallery. When Pam said she had to work, he moved to the “I have to talk to you about something” tactic.

But rather than ask her out straight up, which would fail because he knows she’s engaged, he decided to present her with a drawn out rationalization of why she should stay in New York (near him). He even admitted to having planned his little speech out.

While he knows Pam is engaged, if he can get her to stay in New York in a round-about way, it will put a strain on the relationship and inevitably give him a window in which to make a move.

I only hope Pam is smart enough to see through it. And here I am talking about her like she’s an actual person.

There’s nothing to see through, really. Regardless of his motive, the facts he stated are pretty much true, and both Pam and Jim know it too. It’s not a question of Pam’s being fooled but rather a question of whether Pam can reconcile her professional ambitions with her love life.

What’s missing with regard to Pam’s ambitions is any hint of how well she’s doing in the program (unless I missed it). I can’t see her jeopardizing her relationship with Jim for a job in New York that might be the graphic design equivalent of receptionist.

How’s she doing? She seems happy, so maybe she’s doing well.

I don’t know about you, but now I really want a mug with my face superimposed over a star. I thought that was adorable!

What was really hilarious about those mugs is that everyone’s picture had them looking pissed off-- nary a smile to be seen. Must have been a really fun party…

I mentioned this last week. It seems that Pam is actually in NYC for the fall semester. I too was under the impression that she had left for a summer program, but did the “Weight Loss” episode specifically say this? I know it was stated that the episode occurred during the summer, and Jim made a comment about how his summer was going. But a lot of schools start their fall term in late August, which is still the summer.

If Pam really is away for the fall semester then there’s been some rather sloppy dialogue (aside from the summer thing they’ve repeatedly referred to “three months”, and an academic semester is more like 16-18 weeks) but it isn’t outright inconsistent.

*According to Fischer’s MySpace blog, this is just the way the story is going right now.

Everyone’s touched on a lot of my faves already, but I also wanted to add:

Kelly: “I have my bridemaid’s dress!”
Michael: “What, already?”
Kelly: “Yes! And you said I could pick the color, so I picked WHITE!” ROFL

She defended her future career options to Jim’s brothers be stating her professor(s) thinks she’s got great potential. Whether or not this guy was asking Pam out or not, he seemed confident in encouraging her to pursue it, which could have been just him trying to move in on her.

I’m trying picture myself giving a friend the same advice in a similar way… and that friend being male. No. No doubt he probably harbors feelings for Pam, however I can’t demonize him for what he did. We’ll see how far he takes it.

It was a brilliant episode compared to last week’s. The dynamic between Jim and Dwight was classic!

Has anyone else seen Andy and Angela’s wedding registry?

Notice the theme!

ROFL!!!

Look at her scowly picture!

That whole site is killing me: “Does anyone know a flower without bright colors or pollen?”

Hahahaha! That is awesome. Andy’s so lucky - what with the modesty dressing screen, heavy duty bathroom deadbolt, and extra-thick, non-see-through shower curtain, you can tell she’ll be a wildcat in the sack.

I also love that there’s the karaoke machine, clearly for Andy, immediately followed by noise-canceling headphones for Angela.
