I know I’ll be the only one to say this, but I think it would be great to get rid of the Jim/Pam drama for a bit guys. But then again, maybe I’m a bit biased…I like his new girlfriend better anyways. Pam’s an okay girl, but Jim’s new girlfriend seems nice too. She’s really into him, and she likes FPS games. How awesome was her reaction when Jim threw the air grenade at her and she doesn’t do anything but throw some paperclips up in the air and grin. That was cute. I’m sorry, I can’t take this unrequited love thing too much longer anyways. I’m ready for a break, it can always come back once Roy and Pam are together long enough for Roy to take her for granted again. And besides, I think Roy’s a nice guy too. It’s easy to take someone for granted…especially the highschool sweetheart situation leading to marriage. It’s much more realistic this way.
Also, I didn’t really find this episode so funny. It was basically the Michael Scott show, and it wasn’t Michael Scott at his funniest. It was just a half-hour of cringing for me. Dwight was underused too. I just feel it’s a bit unrealistic, even for Michael to want to hoard the attention at a wedding. Sure, the booze cruise (his desire to be the captain) makes sense. But being jealous of a bride at her wedding was a bit too much for me. It’s probably my least favorite of the season, I guess. I really like episodes where we see characters like Stanley and Toby and Angela and Dwight…The whole cast is great and any episode that doesn’t have a significant contribution by any seems a bit lame.
The previous episode was pretty cool. I really liked Dwight trying to ascertain if he was the real Ben Franklin or not.
The sad thing is that the material that was cut from this episode (avail on the website) was actually funny. I think that if they’d have cut out one or two of Michael’s bits and added these scenes back in, it would have been a great episode.
For instance, one outtake has Dwight at the entrance with a clipboard. Jim and Karen are at the door and Dwight scans the list and checks their names off the list. Jim walks in and mutters, “So you’re not checking i.d. then?” and Dwight gets an alarmed look on his face. The next up is Oscar and Dwight stops him and asks for i.d. Oscar says, “But you know me!” to which Dwight gives him a skeptical look and says, “Do I? Do I really?”
Another scene has one of them explaining the cake cutting ritual to Oscar because they think because he’s gay that he’s never been to a wedding.
Personally, I think both of those scenes were far better than Michael acting like an ass.
Sadly, it seems that the only people who don’t realize that the show works best as an ensemble are the people actually making the show.

There are any number of people on the show funnier than Steve Carell. Unfortunately, he’s the big star, so he probably gets more screen time than he should based on that.
Yeah and looking at the synopsis of tonight’s episode, it’s gonna be all about Michael again.
Tonight’s episode?
Sorry, Thursday’s episode.
You were trying to pull a Halpert on us, weren’t you?
(During S.2 Dwight thought it was Friday, when really it was Thursday. Jim egged him on and Pam later walked up to Jim and asked if he saw The Apprentice.)
