"The Office", 3/24 OPEN SPOILERS

Not really. A spoiler is the advance revelation of part of a story that is supposed to come as a surprise. “It was his sled.” “He was a ghost all along.” “She has a dick.” Those are spoilers. “The new boss on The Office will be played by Will Ferrell” isn’t a spoiler unless it’s somehow relevant to the story. (Say, the office crew think he’s the janitor and hilarity ensues when he turns out to be the new branch manager.) The spoiler was that Michael Scott was going to guit Dunder-Mifflin in the first place, which in an ideal world we wouldn’t have known before this last episode.

Besides, IMO once something airs it’s no longer a spoiler. So next week’s show hasn’t aired yet but the preview did, and anyone watching the show this week saw the preview (unless you went to pains not to watch it). So anything that’s been shown in the preview cannot reasonably be spoiled anymore.

WTF is wrong with this damn show? They’re on hiatus for over a month, come back and air one new episode, and now they’re on hiatus again?

(a) loved the episode… had some truly funny bits, and some genuinely touching bits
(b) any time a sizeable number of people request that something be put in spoiler boxes (and I, too, avoid the previews like the plague, and request that they be spoiled) it’s just common courtesy to do it. Those who want to discuss them still can, with the minimal pain of using a spoiler box. Those who don’t want to can avoid them. I don’t see how anyone could think otherwise.

i don’t understand everyone’s problem with open spoilers in an OPEN SPOILERS thread. tough s folks. Don’t read a walkthrough if you don’t wanna know secrets to the game.
