I believe last night they said next week would be the season finale.
The egg race was great - the various ways everyone dropped out.
What the heck was Creed bringing a surfboard to that pond for?
The last scene threw me for a minute. I couldn’t figure why it was daytime when they were riding the bus back to the office, til I realized it was out of sequence.
Just popping in to say I loved it when Dwight conspired with Angela to thwart Andy, and at the end of their scheming, Dwight said “make sure you stand next to me if we end up doing a group hug.” And Angela was thrilled.
Michael (to corporate dude who just told Michael that he wanted to interview him for a corporate job): “Gosh, I wish I had something prepared to say. (Straining to think of something eloquent.) May God guide you in your search.”
Toby represents corporate and doesn’t report to Michael. Because of that, he has to be the face of reason to Michael’s crazy ideas. The best example was Michael wanting boy scouts to be at the fundraising function that Toby shot down because it was a casino night, where there was alchohol, sponosered by Hooters, late at night, on a school night, etc.
I got the sense that they were just trying to prove that corporate is interviewing a LOT of people and that Michael shouldn’t be assuming that he is going to get the new position.
It didn’t surprise me that Pm started venting. She was on the periphery all day. In fact, she always is. She does these great things like have an art show and everyone ignores it, so when she did something that none of them could or would do (the coal walk), she just had to say something. I liked how fired up she was.
Well, I’d certainly expect him to feel awkward. She could have chosen a better time to talk to him when they weren’t in front of everyone, including his new girlfriend. As much as I feel bad for Pam, I kept wanting to shake her and say, “The reason things are different between you and Jim is because he poured his heart out to you and you kept rejecting him!” Can’t blame the guy for not wanting to cause himself further pain, and for steering clear of her in light of the new girlfriend situation.
Not only was I dyin laughing while Andy was floating away in the sumo suit I also cracked up hard when Dwight attempted to walk across the hot coals, stopped in the middle and fell to his knees and hands. I was cringing and laughing at the same time.
(I’ve done the walk across hot coals thing and while you don’t burn your feet it is still damn hot and will burn your feet if you hesitate while crossing.)
I watched last night, but maybe I missed someting in the speech. Pam confessed to missing her best friend. That’s it. She is upset that things are different between them. She never said she cancelled the wedding because of him, did she? She said there was other stuff. It wasn’t a profession of love, it was lamenting the loss of a great friend. To that friend.
It never looked, to me, to be a play for Jim’s affection. While she was adressing him, in a sense, she was adressing Karen as well. Pam seems fine one on one with Jim or Karen, but not both. None of them feel comfortable in that grouping. “Look, Jim and I were great friends once, and now it’s awkward. Let’s get past this. There’s no reason for the three of us to be uncomfortable with each other as a group,” is about how I interpreted it.
Oscar and his boyfriend went, but IIRC Pam didn’t see them there, and they just trashed her art anyway. Micheal was the one who was supportive of her.
Am I the only one who thought it odd the Dwight was worried about Jim saying Voldemort? Since Dwight’s so super-righteous and can’t tell fantasy from reality, wouldn’t he want people to say Voldemort, like Dumbledore or Harry would? It seem more in Dwight’s character to chastise someone for saying “He Who Must Not Be Named” instead of Voldemort.

Care to explain for those of us who missed it?..
Well, I didn’t see the episode, but Watch out for snakes! is a line from one of the most famously bad films of all time, Eegah! The line is particularly preposterous in Eegah!, because it’s spoken very loudly by a totally disembodied voice. It was an obvious dub-in that was ludicrous and unnecessary.
If The Office was referencing that, yeah, it’s pretty obscure.
She didn’t talk to them, but she did overhear them discussing her work, specifically the lack of courage behind it. Oscar mentioned the lack of courage in Pam herself, which started Pam down the path she’s on now (being more sure of herself and aggressive).

But the truth is, I didn’t care about any of those reasons until I met you. ** And now you’re with someone else, and that’s fine. It’s … whatever. That’s not what I’m … I’m not … okay my feet really hurt. The thing that I’m just trying to say to you, Jim, and to everyone else in the circle I guess, is that I miss having fun with you. Just you, not everyone in the circle. Okay, I am gonna go walk in the water now. Yeah, it’s a good day.
OK, I missed the part about her calling off the wedding because of him. But she still doesn’t confess to having “feelings” for him. It still seems to me that she liked the person Jim made her (more fun loving, relaxed, her own woman so to speak, sought her opinion and participation on stuff, where Roy took her for granted and kind of did what he wanted anyway) but not necessarily on a romantic level, though.
She misses the goofing around and fun times because she senses an awkwarness there that (to this point) really doesn’t belong there. I think she was addressing the awkwardness.
I’m not saying that I think there aren’t torches being carried, it’s just that in this speech, it’s more about the friendship aspect of it than any romantic aspect. She can still be a girl friend without having to be the girlfriend.
