Creed’s reaction made up for it.
Andy’s celebratory “Running Man” dance while blowing the air horn was hilarious.
“Circle of garbage” is my new phrase for pizza I don’t like.
I believe it was “hot circle of garbage”. I love Kevin.
I must have misread that whole scene. It seemed like Dwight’s spirits fell to the floor when the computer told him he was the superior being. Jim even asked him if he was okay or something, didn’t I? I remember being curious about that and trying to figure out why it depressed him. I was surprised when I saw your post.
I agree that it was a bit odd; I interpreted it as Dwight being so distraught over Angela that Pam’s message from the computer didn’t help. Dwight was pretty pleased with himself for having beaten the computer at a later point in the episode, wasn’t he?
Really? I took it pretty much the same way as pricciar did. I wish I didn’t delete it from my PVR or I’d rewatch it.
Yeah, he was depressed. But, he looked happy when he read the message, I think. And, even if it didn’t work atleast Pam tried! She did it to be nice, because she saw how bad he was taking Angela.
Which reminds me of another hilarious line “How can I send a notarized letter when HE is my notary!”
Or something like that. Funny stuff.
So far this season I think the writers have done a good job antipating the viewer’s reactions. In this episode as Unauthorized Cinnamon mentioned the whole “looks like a straight up kidnapping” thing and in the season opener when Kevin said “You’ve GOT to be kidding me!” That was perfect.
pat
Well, just the concept of sending a notarized break-up letter in the first place is fantastic.
I love the one hour episodes. Usually, I can’t get enough, and I’m disappointed if my DVR cuts off the little moment of office zen at the end.
I can’t recall much I’d have wanted to cut out from the episode to get it down to 30 minutes anyway. I was laughing pretty much the whole time.
I took Dwight’s reaction as positive – the website acknowledging his performance brings him to tears.
Classic Michael Scott, in a not-too-Homery sort of way: misinterpreting his Evite to an online party as an invitation to the New York shindig.
I liked Kelly in this episode, when she asked Micahel if Ryan said anything about them getting back together in his memo to when she smahsed Ryan’s face on the TV with a slice of pizza.
No Toby in this episode. Hmmm.
When these get sold into syndication, I’m pretty sure the hour-long episodes will become two 30-minute episodes, not be whittled down to one. The pacing still hasn’t seemed right, but all three hours have had a sort of natural breaking point in the middle of the show (though this week less obviously than the last couple).
I think Dwight got sad after Pam sent the IM because he’d been hoping to impress Angela and win her back, but she shot him down and then asked Pam if she knew any men to set her up with, and that was what prompted the IM, because she saw that Dwight heard. He beat the computer, but it was a hollow victory because he’d lost his girl. It’s interesting how Dwight’s character has become a lot more sympathetic–at the beginning of the series, he was pretty much just annoying, but they’ve made him a lot more complex.
I really liked Andy’s serenade, too. He was so sweet about it, and it was such a nice bit of acting on Angela Kinsey’s part; she starts to smile and suppresses it, and has this very subtly pleased look on her face when she walks away.
Can’t you just change the U into an A?
I just have to add a comment about the *Bee Movie * promos during the commercial breaks- did Jerry Seinfeld sell a piece of his soul to NBC or something? Why do they have such a tie-in with this stupid movie that they’d modify the peacock logo?
The promos have to be funnier than the movie is going to be (bee). And the song about Super Chicken or whatever it was was great!
Would it really be better if it read LANCH Party?
I don’t usually watch this show and yet I enjoy it whenever I do catch it on TV. I think I need to start paying more attention to it.
I love the screensaver thing. A coworker and I were doing nearly the same thing once a couple of years ago! We never saw it go into the corner, though.
UGGGH the B mini movies stank… I’m avoiding the film at all costs because of these!!!
Oh and I loved the episode, especially all teh gloating over “The Good Pizza” Hot round garbage… hee hee
Hi,
I’ve just recently started watching, and I wish they would go back to 30 min. I watched up till the last 15 but lost interest then and went to bed.
My favorite line though…
“Tie goes to the girlfriend”.
NBC gave them the promos when Jerry objected to their scheme to digitally insert his image into their shows and threatened to buy the network outright.
Me, I was shocked to see that they were sponsored by Ford. The commercials have commercials!
Well…they need something to keep the momentum going after MILF Island.
Yeah, like Jerry Seinfeld has $4 million
I thought the Phyllis v Angela scenes were the the funniest thing I’ve seen on The Office since Michael’s Birthday
