Tonight’s episode is the hour long one where everyone heads to Niagara Falls (New York or Ontario?) for Jim and Pam’s wedding.
For those who missed the ending
Kevin got most of a girl’s phone number, and then cooled off his incredibly sweaty feet in the ice vending machine. Pam’s mom dragged Michael into her room.
Regarding Kevin:
He got six numbers. If he’d gotten one more, he’d have had a whole phone number.
Chain reaction barfing…and Creed unfazed.
Man, it was horribly slapsticky and cheesy but it also great. Dwight pretty much killed every scene he was in. Especially the wolf shirt + Hamburger-on-the-Go + twins! scene. Great reaction shots from Creed too, like when Michael was talking about using protection.
I liked that Jim was the one to spill the beans about Pam’s pregnancy.
And here I thought I was the only one who ever gives a turtle boiling pot, with shell hammers and bibs, as a wedding gift.
I liked a lot of it – The cold open, Andy tearing his nutsack, Dwight’s “turtle soup kit” – a lot of minor moments. I didn’t get the ending, though. Everybody just breaks into dance? WTF? Is this a high school musical all of a sudden?
I thought the last ten minutes or so devolved into sentimental pap, but the tag with Michael nailing Pam’s mom was pretty good.
Imagine Michael becoming Jim’s father-in-law.
Some good moments, sure; but I fear this is the jump the shark ep.
Too many characters were waaaaaaaay over the top in this one; they were all Homer Simpson-ish to some degree. And that feel-good dance number at the church was something straight out of a Disney movie. I have to give it a thumbs down.
What’s with the spoiler tags? The thread title has an open spoiler warning.
Who plays Jim’s Dad?
What WAS the deal with that dance sequence? That made no sense at all. And what youtube video was Michael talking about. I feel so un-hip.
I’d really like to see this become a recurring arc somehow. Was Stanley the only one who brought a spouse/partner? It seemed kind of odd that Phyllis showed up without Bob Vance of Vance Refrigeration.
There was a very popular YouTube video featuring a wedding party that broke into dance to that same song. I read an article a couple of months ago (on Slate maybe?) about how it had inspired a fad, which the author of the piece found really annoying.
Anyway, some members of the wedding party (Jim’s brothers?) apparently decided to do the same thing at Pam and Jim’s wedding. Pam seems to have been afraid of something similar, as her sister mentioned knowing that the song was on Pam’s “Don’t” list.
I cried at the scenes on the boat at Niagara Falls.
I’m almost certain Bob Vance was there. During the dance scene he was sashaying down the aisle with Phyllis and did a mock whack to her bottom if I’m not mistaken.
Ok, thanks for the links. I get it now. That’s a hideous video, but it’s exactly the kind of thing Micahel and/or Jim’s brothers would try to imitate, I guess.
Am I wrong, or was Pam’s sister the same actress who played the loony fundy chick on True Blood?
You are correct.
The actress playing Pam’s mother looked really familiar. Does anyone know who she was?
