Roberts goofed it the first time. I think Obama started out to say it the correct way (probably has it memorized), and then tried to repeat back Roberts’ flub.

A liar, condoned torture, trashed the Consitution, drove the economy into the ground, killed America’s standing in the world, dallied while New Orleans drowned, sacrificed American lives needlessly and recklessly, suqandered a budget surplus.

Not a lot of soundbites - most of it was managing American’s expectations and sending messages to the rest of the world. A nice bit of propaganda aimed at the Muslim world, along the lines of “I’m not your enemy. Oh and by the way, what have your leaders done for you lately?” And a stunning acknowledgement that scientists and nonbelievers are Americans too.
I’m not sure it’ll read well carved into marble, but it will do me just fine.

He’s formally nominating his cabinet. The Senate will confirm them (except Clinton) later this afternoon. She has to wait until tomorrow.
The employment papers, his W-4, etc. Presumably someone is in the other room photocopying his driver’s license.

I’m sure this has been discussed ad nauseum in the kind of threads/forums/boards I make a point not to read, but I just noticed, as he signed his first bill, that Pres. Obama (damn, it’s good to write those words!) is left-handed! Cool!
I first noticed when I saw him playing basketball. 4 straight left-handed presidents, though…that’s interesting.
John McCain is left-handed, too. Either way, it was going to be.
