I’ve been doing some cleaning like activities. Not perfect, but definitely guest-ready. Some friends are coming over later. I hope there’s enough time to show them around the whole place. 
Haven’t read. Am with family at niece’s graduation. Only an hour left before it starts.

A little past 10:45am and it’s already 82 degrees (28 for our Celsius readers), projected high 97 (36C). Next weekend’s supposed to hit 104 (40C). My car does not have working AC at this time. ICK!
Trying to get my brain booted up for deheathenizing today, especially since I’m substitute-teaching the 7-year-old class today. At least they should have more attention span than 3-year-olds, right? It’s still too early for them to be doing the adolescent thing, right?
I’ve deheathenated, had N.O.L. and been to :eek: WallyWorld :eek:. I finally found the pool float I like. This one to be exact, except I only paid sixteen bucks for it at :eek: WallyWorld :eek:. It replaces the one I had just like it that I finally had to relegate to the trash at the end of last Summer. It lasted five years so I got my money’s worth out of it. Let’s hope the same for the new one.

So much for stuffed cabbage… 
After finishing laundry and some other things, I just didn’t feel like all the mess of stuffing cabbage, so I made a meatloaf instead using some of the cabbage-stuffing ingredients. We’ll have cabbage as our side.
**FCD **is back from his ride - turns out it was a fund-raiser for a kid with big medical bills. He had a good time but he said it was hot-hot-hot out there. um duh! He has bathed the dog and showered himself, so no stinkies in this house at the moment.
I think it’s time to knit a bit.

Already wrote about it in the rant thread - a bunch of my friends went out without me last night, and are now posting videos on Facebook and boasting about how much fun they had.
Might go out to the jazz club tonight. I have a friend who’s playing. It’s not drinking alone if you know a member of the band…

Stoopit rain keeps coming back like a bad rash. Like enough for the garden and such (saves watering), but we just had a yard of composted moo-doo delivered and I’ve had to keep it covered until it can be distributed. We’re (and by ‘we’, I mean the wife and kiddos, who aren’t home for two more days) are about halfway through the process, and I want to keep it dry - much easier to handle. Nice stuff, it is. Pure black gold for top and side dressing the veggie plants.
Well, gonna take the doggies out for a dodge-the-raindrops walk now, it seems to have stopped for the moment, and the radar shows a break in the line of storms. They’re giving me the serious hairy-eyeball-time-for-WALKIES! look, so I best get going.
I didn’t get a chance to walk my bass clarinet today. Oh well.
Heading out to the jazz thingie soon.
Midget when you asked for that bass clarinet you said you’d be responsible for it. This means takin’ it for its daily walk. Do we have to find another home for it? :dubious:

Swampy I am having to move because my landlord will not renew my lease. I suspect the property is getting renovated and/or sold. I am not prepared for this at all and because I did not pay attention I am going to have to do it quickly. That is my own fault. I think I found a house and roomie so all may be even better.
Houston is hawt and humid today. Went and had awesome Thai Curry, it burns so good oh so good.

Supper was good - instead of cabbage, I made fresh green beans, cooked in salt, pepper, a little onion, and a little olive oil. Very yummy! **FCD **said the recipe is a keeper - I just kinda made it up -go me!
