The Donald “wrote” an op-ed in the Onion today.

The Onion is right. We’re loving seeing what an ass Trump makes of himself. But more than that: We’re loving seeing what an ass Trump is making of the entire Republican Party, or at least “the base” and the other candidates. And yeah, we all want to see how far he will take it. And we all want to see how much damage he will do to all the other Republicans. Good times, indeed!

I know I’m loving it.

Had this discussion with a friend of mine two weeks ago. Friend is a republican even if he’s not a Republican. Pretty much except for being pro-life, you hear the opinions that come out of his mouth and they’re straight out of the right wing talking points.

He’s liking Trump. Trump speaks the truth. The Democrats are afraid of Trump. (At which point I said then why are Democrats thrilled with Trump being in the race?) He even claimed that if it was Trump v Hillary, Trump would win. I scoffed. I derided. I pointed out he understood nothing about demographics.

There’s a reason comedians like Jon Stewart and Larry Wilmore are wanting Trump to stay in the race.

And I’m right with them. I’m loving seeing Trump in this race. And the poll numbers just make me laugh all the more.

Before it was Bachmann and Cain. This time it’s Trump. Can we expect this from here on out in the Republican presidential primary process?

There are other sides to the story.

He claims he was given medical care normally unavailable to captured Americans only because the Vietnamese learned he was the son of Admiral John S. McCain, Jr., the soon-to-be commander of all U.S. forces in the Pacific including those fighting in Vietnam. The Vietnamese figured that because POW McCain’s father was of such high military rank that he was of royalty or the governing circle in the United States. Thereafter the communist bragged that they had captured “the crown prince” and treated him as a “special prisoner.” Less than two weeks after McCain was taken to a hospital, Hanoi’s press began quoting him giving specific military information, including the name of the aircraft carrier on which he was based, numbers of U.S. pilots that had been lost, the number of aircraft in his flight, information about location of rescue ships and the order of which his attack was supposed to take place. There is also evidence that McCain received “special” medical treatment from a Soviet physician.

I predict a “flood the subways!” moment when his poll numbers start to plummet after using “The N-Word” or dropping an “F-bomb” or something equally as stupid, and he calls all the American people “losers” and stupid for not wanted to be saved by The Donald. He’ll then take his ball and go home.

I am very tempted to actually donate to a Trump third party candidacy PAC. Seriously. I think that would be a very positive thing for the country.
