The On This Day In History MMP

Still waiting for your picture to come up, Mom. i think our router is dying. I reset it twice yesterday and it’s still slower than a Congressman refusing a bribe.

Speaking of dying, our showerhead committed suicide this morning. I was in the shower and heard a POP/BANG and something hit me in the back, followed by a stream of water. I turned around to find the showerhead empty and the guts thereto lying on the floor of the tub. So now we have one of the new ‘flow-restrictor’ showerheads in it’s place, temporarily. We live in a 110-year-old house with truly ancient plumbing, and we already have that ‘flow-restricting’ business going on just fine thankyouverymuch, so we’ll be looking up the Showerblaster guy later and ordering a new showerhead real soon.

Cool! you even have a Clown fish! Like!

Take care of yourself LiLi, we’re all expecting to become doting aunts and uncles real soon!

Gotta go. Laters.

Morning! Yay mooooom is back!

Was up early this morning as we were having our new Dryer delivered today - they said they would be here between 8.15 and 10.15 and they arrived at 8.18. They dryer has had a workout allready between bed sheets, comforter, bath mats, a load of jeans I have done a ton of laundry today. I have also scrubbed the house from top to bottom this morning. Yesterday involved grocery shopping and Tar-jay which had a $188 exit fee! I also made a version of Olive Garden’s Pasta e Fagoli soup which was delicious last night and again for lunch today.

mr ems is fighting off a nasty version of sinus crud and is taking a nap with LibbyCat. I think Ima go join them…

Moooooms home!

Chicken wings, baked N.O.T. and salad for dinner.

Congratulations MOOOOOOM it’s a bouncin’ baby anemone!

I want chikin wings! Course I’s stuffded from N.O.L. still. BBQ is a good thing. It’s an even better thing when it gets all et up. Well, almost all. I took some over to my next road neighbors who are sick. BBQ can cure a lot of ailments ya know.

Rosie I forgot to say earlier, but I voted. HEE!

Yay for new dryer mmmmmms. Funny how sump’n mundane as that can get so excitatin’ ain’t it.

Bumba bummer about the shower head. May you find a super duper deluxe one soon.

Stopped by my mom’s on the way to the gym. Cooked her some borscht and stayed til she at it all. She has horrible eating habits to begin with but she gets so bad when she’s sick that she now has a massive case of dehydration. I finally convinced her to go to Urgent Care, which she did. She spent quite a while on a saline drip and is starting to feel better already.
Had a blast at the gym. I am totally in love with the rower and I made sure there will be one at the local branch when it opens next week. I also learned how to use a sit up/basketball thingie and did some lower body weights. There’s a lot to be said for liking your gym. I totally look forward to going and I don’t want to leave when I get there. It’s a good thing I keep getting there close to closing time because otherwise I’d probably be there for 2 or 3 hours.
Stopped at the grocery store on the way home and got soup fixins. I decided to add some parsnips, even though I’ve never had one before. I ate a bite of one before I put it in the pot and determined that it tastes like a carrot/onion hybrid.

Picked up my no longer lost cell phone from Pier 1. YAY!!

Soup is cooking, bills are paid for January and February, Quicken is balanced, and the taxes are done. If it weren’t for homework, I’d spend the night being lazy and irresponsible. Damn homework. :stuck_out_tongue:

Culinary Boy got a job! He’s working at a Zaxby’s near the Vet Quarters where he’s staying. I’m hoping this means I can get the good chicken fingers at a discount.

Go Culinary Boy!

I didn’t get nearly as many thngs done today as I wanted to.

But I did have a lovely time at dinner with my friends. And came home and watched Seven Years in Tibet with my brother, who, for some mysterious reason, has been watching grown-up movies lately.

Hugs for all and see you in the next MMP.
