It’s always a good day that ends with the knowledge that the taxes are done and nothing is owed, and that the refund is higher than expected.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 39 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 68. This is more like Winter here in south Jawja.
In a bit I need to get myself all purtified cause I have to go over to the church house and make coffee and such. We’re hostin’ an area Convocation/Training for Lay Readers and Lay Eucharistic Ministers and dumbass moi said I’d go set up for coffee. We have, in addition to coffee, fruit, baby muffins, croissants (close enough spellin’), I think cookies, juice and soft drinks for the masses. Ok masses may be like fifty but still, gotta be good hosts.
On that note I think I shall go get purtified.
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
I understand. It is dumb. I think they’re actually looking for heartbeat/movement ratio things, too, but the primary point is to find out if they’re moving. Which they really, really are.
Bother. Headache. I’m going to wait a bit and see if it goes away, and if it doesn’t, it’s back to the hospital.
Argh.
Also I can’t wait until we get our taxes done. With medical receipts and Mr. Lissar’s home business the return should be great. We’re still waiting on about three-quarters of our T4s.
Oh, LiLi, that sounds like no fun at all. Hope the headache subsides quickly and that everything’s OK with both of the little ones.
Am off to the park to get our year started.
Hugs.

Up, caffeinated, off to irk. Watching the NHL Skills compeition tonight.

1986 The space shuttle Challenger explodes just after liftoff.
I remember the Challenger event very clearly. My desk was directly in line with the doorway to the phone group, and there was a clear aisle to the far side of that room on which was mounted a large screen TV. I turned to watch the smoke trail which didn’t look at all right, then I saw one of the phone supervisor wobble and almost faint into her chair. The image of the very wrong smoke trail is burned in my brain.
I was completely oblivious to the the explosion until years later. Since I wasn’t at school with my chicken pox, I wasn’t watching with everyone else. My mom wasn’t big on stuff like that and she hated watching the news. I wonder why my sisters didn’t tell me though. I think I was 10 or 12 when I found out what had happened (4-6 years later).
That day is etched into my mind forever. My husband and I were on the last day of our honeymoon when the owners of the hotel we were staying came pounding on our door and told us to turn on the TV. We, the owners and few others staying in the hotel were all standing around in our room watching it unfold on TV.
We were horrified and greatly saddened.
The hotel we were staying was actually kind of small and different from the corporate chain types of hotels. Every room was done in a different style or period. We were in the Hawaiian room. There was a saling room, an, Elizabithean room, and several others, but all were different. There was also cabin and a beachhouse down below. We were right on the cliffs overlooking the beach and ocean.
I’m up and about; coffee in hand. Soon I’ll shower and pack for our overnight trip to the Manresas Castle in Port Townsend.
Internal. No fun. They have to see if I’m dilating.
Hee. I’m listening to The Muppets*, and Sam the Eagle is saying, “I always have the greatest respect for other people’s crackpot beliefs.”
It snowed last night, not enough to cover all the ugly, but just enough to crap up the streets and more importantly, my car, which I washed yesterday.
I decrapified 2 bookcases this morning. This afternoon I will visit Bob teh Wonder Pony and maybe we’ll have a little ride. Din-din tonight at a place that has outdoor fireplaces so you can MAKE YOUR OWN S’MORES!!!1!!!
wetone a “make your own 'smores” buffet would be like the jakest food thing ever!
Home from learnin’ how to read in public. It was actually quite good and informative. We had a lot of fun listenin’ to each other’s “style” of readin’ and in general discussin’ the church liturgy. It was all church nerd stuff.
Plus we had good eats includin’ homemade muffins and cookies! YUM!!!
I’ve had N.O.L. a Philly Cheesesteak which was good. Baby Girl’s (MOG’s grandaughter) first birthday party is later this afternoon. Should be a wild time!
Now I think I shall have me a little nappy poo so I shall be refreshed.
It is nearly 6.45pm, is it too late to still be feeling all blurfy?
not at all, BooFae. Evening blurfs are just as important as morning ones.
Blurf. At 12:45 PM
Got a blood pressure check and it’s okay, I just have a miserable headache. That’s fine- I can live with it.
I was blurf by 5:30 this morning. Not getting a lot more energetic as the day progresses.
Hi, Honeys, I’m HOOOOOOME!!!
I haven’t gotten caught up on anything yet, but I’d like to claim the next MMP if no one else wants it. More later - I’m wading thru a hip-high pile of dirty laundry…
MWAH!!!
So, Mooooooom’s cruise wasn’t a 3 hour tour of some Eyetalian islands after all.
Bambilance duty tonight. I missed a good one this afternoon, where nearly every piece of fire and medical equipment was scrambled to the local airport for an aircraft emergency. A plane called in with malfunctioning landing gear. It had a happy ending, too.
I watched it in kindergarten. It was the day we learned the letter R (R is for rocket–we were six, we didn’t know the difference between rocket and shuttle).
Moooom’s back! Hide the tablecloth!
