The ONE movie that will always make you stop channel surfing

Damn. That’s exactly what I came here to post. The soundtrack alone is worth the price of admission!

So, instead I’ll say Apollo 13.

I’ve not checked the other responses yet, but I’m going to go with Batteries Not Included. I could probably watch that film a thousand times and not get bored with it.

A Knight’s Tale.

This is what I came to say. Sam Elliot’s character is great in this movie.

Adventures in Babysitting.

the Great escape.

Unclviny

Oh Brother Where Art Thou? - clean enough to not need editing, can pick up at any point, great music and Coen Brothers.

A Knight’s Tale. My perfect movie.

The Time Machine

Demolition Man. If I’m surfing, I’m looking for “comfort food.” This is entertaining, relaxing, funny, mildly thought-provoking but not challenging. . . it’s as good as a nap!

That’s mine too.

Mulholland Drive. It’s such a pastiche of great scenes that I stop to watch, knowing that whatever I’m on will only take maybe 5-6 minutes. Then I get sucked into the next scene, and the next…

O Brother Where Art Thou.

But I agree with most of the other movies people have mentioned. Glad I don’t have cable or satellite any more, gives me more free time. But there’s still Netflix streaming video.

The Matrix. Though I’ve seen it one zillion times, I stop to watch the shootout.

Star Wars

Dammit, why didn’t I think of that?!? I just put in an order with them, too! I’ll have to put it on my list for my next order.

Doesn’t it disappoint you when it’s edited within an inch of its life? I can take some editing for tv, but taking all the funny out…

Tommy Boy.

Ferris Beuller’s Day Off.

Sorry, nope. As much as I love Ferris Beuller, I’d watch The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension over that.

Casablanca. Not likely to pop up on TV over here, though.

It’s a Wonderful Life.
Dork.
Dork.
Dork.

Best wishes,
