Temps are in the middle 20s here this morning. If the sun comes up and it thaws a bit, I’ll tend to the leaves today. But not till later.
Higgs raised a ruckus about 4 this AM, and we chose to ignore her. Amazingly, she quieted down, and we fell back to sleep. I got up a bit after 6 because apparently I was finished sleeping. **FCD **is enjoying his day off. He likes his new job, except for the getting up and going part - he got used to sleeping in, then futzing in his shop all day. I believe that’s his plan for today. 
But he does like being a non-manager and just doing design stuff.
The gov’t contractor world is somewhat incestuous and he found out from a coworker who used to work for another company that **FCD **was a sub-contractor to (no, really, it makes sense) - anyway, a design my sweetie did some years back is now being installed on a buttload of Navy ships. Not that his name appears anywhere associated with the work or the analysis - apparently what he submitted to the prime contractor was repackaged on their letterhead and submitted to the Navy that way. But no matter - my sweetie done good!
Ziva has been getting really friendly these days. Several times this week when I was in the afghaning position, she joined me, along with Higgs and Taz. If we had any more critters, I’d run out of space on the recliner! Ziva is funny, tho. She’ll purr and happy dance and let me give her skritches, and when she’s had enough, she takes her money and goes… OK, no money changes hands, but she still comes off like a hooker cat. Kindly refrain from making the obvious jokes… 
In summary - yard work today, dinner out tonight, no wolverine burgers! (**Daaaaaaaaad **made me giggle.)

No big plans for the day. I shall make dindin for JDD and Partner this evenin’. In a little while I shall make up a beastloaf and let it mellow in da fridge until time to bake. Everything else is pretty basic and won’t take long to make. Seriously. That’s the biiiiiiiiiiig plan for the day. OYKW mentioned a need to go to :eek:Wally*World:eek: today. I foresee that bein’ a solo trip for him. He’s a big boy and can do that unsupervised.
Ok that’s all I got. I need more caffiene and need to feed rumbly tummy. I think I might wait until OYKW joins the land of the awake. Or not. I’m all willy-nilly like that.

The USPS delivered my box o’glasses this morning at 7AM!!! I’m guessing they send one truck with boxes separate from the regular mail delivery. Anyway, I’ve finally gotten them, and while they’re nice, they’re not as big as I’d hoped. And one of them has a big flaw in it - Libby will be getting an email with a photo from me. Maybe they’ll send me a coupon!
We went to breakfast in Leonardtown and I ran into a former coworker who managed to transfer to the base in our county. He was so relieved to have gotten out of there for a variety of reasons - internal politics being the biggie. It was funny to run into him - for some reason, I was thinking about him the other day, and there he was!
**FCD **is running to Lowe’s for a hunk of foam and a battery for our John Deere - it’s dead dead dead. It wouldn’t even start when hooked to the charger. So I can’t run the mulcher/vac till he gets that taken care of.
Meanwhile, it’s above freezing, so there’s that.

I will admit though that where I was born (northeartern PA) has a lot more sleaze than where I am now - southwestern. Around here the politicians and political appointees are more just freaking stupid! You have to drive kitty-corner for the really good cash for kids type stuff.

There are US products; Near Beer that has no alcohol, and Pearl, a beer that after extensive experimentation, I determined had very little alcohol in it.
