Came home from irk approx. 4.5 hours after posting the MMP. Chilled in front of the Dope for another 2.5, then went to bed, setting my alarm for a 2-hour nappie.
Which I proceeded to sleep RIGHT through, to the tune of another ninety minutes. Yes, it means that I really did need the sleepage, but tonight I don’t go into irk, and I prefer to not overdo my nappies on the day I transition from nocturnal to diurnal. So’s I can actually sleep that night, of course.
Ah, well. I operated the thermally-excited dihydrogen monoxide-assisted caffeine extraction system a while ago, and am currently sampling the contents of the catch tank, with a coupla teaspoons of Peppermint Mocha-flavored non-dairy fluid. By the counting of such simple pleasures is the life of a Doper marked.
Gonna try to drag kaylasmom out of bed so I can pour some of this stuff into her (I sense that eventually she’ll be grateful). Then I’ll get a few household chores completed (or shoved to one side to clear a horizontal surface, anyway), and prepare to cook din-din (dindin?). Tonight’s entree: oven-fried chikkun leg components, coated with Dixie Fry. And probably some mashed tubers, of the Idaho variety, and if I can find one, a can of sweet peas, followed by red velvet cake.
This is going to be my maiden voyage with Dixie Fry, btw, and I’d appreciate some advice to reduce my chances of going astray. My normal technique for this dish is to melt half a stick of butter in a baking dish in the oven, coat the chikkun leg components in seasoned flour (salt, pepper, oregano), dip in a mixture of beaten chikkun caviar and cow squeezin’s, roll them in plain bread crumbs, put into the melted butter, top each piece with a mini-pat of butter, and pop it into the oven for 45 minutes.
My plan for the evening is to use the Dixie Fry in place of the plain bread crumbs. Is this sound?
