The Pay-It-Forward MMP

Howdy Y’all! I survived my foray to the near north forty and have had N.O.L. Nobody is actin’ up so far today so Ima count that as a win. It’s dreary, windy, cool and ick out. No rain, so there’s that at least. Tomorrow when I get to ride all over the far west forty is suppose to be sunny and in the mid 60s which ain’t too shabby. The worst part will be the ride forty miles, do an hour’s worth of irk, ride another forty miles, do another hour’s worth of irk, ride another forty miles, do another hour’s worth or irk, then ride about sixty miles to get back to the orifice. Oh and these rides are for the most part two lane state highways. It’s like four hours worth of ridin’ for three hours of irk.

I can feel the envy!

Blurf.

After a weekend of food poisoning, however, I’m rather glad that ‘blurf’ is all I have to say!

Grrlbrarian, are you a liberrian IRL? I am a medical liberrian, working in a hospital. Food poisoning is the pits. Beware of dehydration.

You say that like it’s a good thing. :stuck_out_tongue:

Daaad, serious karma points there.

Emily, I have big feet too. Years ago, one of my drag queen friends used to borrow shoes from me (and I from him) because we wore the same size.

wet one, I hope that you feel better soon.

Began today putting out fires and it looks like it will be that way all week.

Happy Monday!

more snow. :stuck_out_tongue: larger flakes. :stuck_out_tongue: Nothing is sticking yet

Regarding snow: Better thee than me!

I’ve finished the afghan. It’s in the washer on a rinse cycle, after which I’ll toss it in the dryer. With luck, most of the critter hair will come off. I need to get a couple of blanket boxes and I’m hoping my future nephew-in-law will reply to my email fairly soon. I won’t be starting on his afghan till after the holidays, but I would like to know what I’ll be doing.

Cod for supper, sides TBD. I have some fresh broccoli, so I’ll probably steam that. Time enough to decide.

:: Puts out NO SNOW signs ::

Howdy from da cave! Moanday has been survived. YAY! Dindin shall be lasagna leftover from Sattidy, sallit, and garlic bread. The sallit is from a bag (don’t judge!), so all I will need to do is heat up the lasagna and toast up some garlic bread. I yanked some chikin noodle soup outta da freezer this mornin’ and it’s thawin’ in da fridge. That shall be dindin tomorrow night along with some cornbread. Matter of fact this shall be eat stuff outta da fridge week as I also have chili and beast stew thawin’ for dindins on Wednesday and Thursday. Go Me!

MOOOOOOM how nuts do you think Higgs is gonna go when her daddy gets home today?

hmmmmm - I may just make some chickie noodle soup tomorrow. I have some frozen broth that’s just taking up space. I think that’s a plan!

As for Higgs, she will go nuts when daddy gets home. She always does!

rosie, there ya go, using that four letter word again!

First!!! Oh, wait. Home from irk waiting on hubby to arrive so we can head out to dinner and get my goodies from Walmart.

Won’t make the early bird at this point. Found out my niece is on a cruise anyway. I dislike it gets dark so early.

I bought gas today for under $3 per gallon for the first time but it was still higher than anywhere else in the country as we pay for the weather here.

Dindin has been ingested. Leftover lasagna hit the spot, and best of all, it’s all gone. OYKW is stayin’ the night (YAY!!!) and is about to have him a soak in the whirlpool tub. Heh. It’s my tub but he uses it waaaaaaaaaay more than I do. ‘mI more of a jump in the shower and get it over with type when it comes to riddin’ myself of offensive effluvia.

**FCD **is on his way home. I’m not sure what the traffic is like, so timing everything is my challenge. I will turn on the broccoli steamer shortly and pop the crescents into the oven. The fish is already started - the fillets are thick so they’ll take a while.

Klondikes for dessert. Yum!

You are almost as loving and thoughtful a Wife as Mrs. Plant (v.3.0)

My sweetie is home and we’ve dined. He got all kinds of loot for his first day - a shirt, a tote, a cushy pad for his keyboard, some mechanical pencils, and some papers for me to sign. He said he’s supposed to spend this week playing with the ProE software before they dump a project in his lap. He’s one of 4 mechanical engineers, which is great. After being the only one for so long, he’s looking forward to having others to talk with about design issues. Guess I’ve been replaced…

AND, as a super surprise, our own peedin was my Secret Santa and she sent me a whole bunch of stuff! Plus a nice little note explaining, among other things, where her name came from. I know something youse guys don’t know!!! :stuck_out_tongue: Oh, and **peedin **- your last name is almost the same as my sister/BIL and fambly - except their second vowel is e. When I saw your return address, I was temporarily slightly confused. But I got over it. Anyway, thanks again!! As if I didn’t gush enough in the SS thread!

Came home from irk approx. 4.5 hours after posting the MMP. Chilled in front of the Dope for another 2.5, then went to bed, setting my alarm for a 2-hour nappie.

Which I proceeded to sleep RIGHT through, to the tune of another ninety minutes. Yes, it means that I really did need the sleepage, but tonight I don’t go into irk, and I prefer to not overdo my nappies on the day I transition from nocturnal to diurnal. So’s I can actually sleep that night, of course.

Ah, well. I operated the thermally-excited dihydrogen monoxide-assisted caffeine extraction system a while ago, and am currently sampling the contents of the catch tank, with a coupla teaspoons of Peppermint Mocha-flavored non-dairy fluid. By the counting of such simple pleasures is the life of a Doper marked.

Gonna try to drag kaylasmom out of bed so I can pour some of this stuff into her (I sense that eventually she’ll be grateful). Then I’ll get a few household chores completed (or shoved to one side to clear a horizontal surface, anyway), and prepare to cook din-din (dindin?). Tonight’s entree: oven-fried chikkun leg components, coated with Dixie Fry. And probably some mashed tubers, of the Idaho variety, and if I can find one, a can of sweet peas, followed by red velvet cake.

This is going to be my maiden voyage with Dixie Fry, btw, and I’d appreciate some advice to reduce my chances of going astray. My normal technique for this dish is to melt half a stick of butter in a baking dish in the oven, coat the chikkun leg components in seasoned flour (salt, pepper, oregano), dip in a mixture of beaten chikkun caviar and cow squeezin’s, roll them in plain bread crumbs, put into the melted butter, top each piece with a mini-pat of butter, and pop it into the oven for 45 minutes.

My plan for the evening is to use the Dixie Fry in place of the plain bread crumbs. Is this sound?

It’s not fried, it’s shake 'n bake! And AHHHHHHHHHHHHH Helped! I just could not resist. Seriously, it’s basically bread crumbs with some seasonin’s.

'Tis chilly out! Glad I got me a bear to snuggle up with tonight.

kaylasdad99, I don’t understand. If you authorized the pump, didn’t you set it for 30, or is this like the recent thread where the pump didn't stop at the expected amount?

So, you passed it to me, huh? :frowning:
(& no dental insurance {yet} w/ new job) :frowning: :frowning:

Put yer @#$%&* sign away…now!!!
We’s ‘posed to get Noreaster startin’ tomarer. Lotsa rain, mebbe some snow. Train station is in low lying area. I’ve see cars float there before.
Snow is preferable as it won’t flood & therefore total cars.

To be married to you she must be thoughtless. Wait! You’re married to the mod?

Spidey the “NO SNOW” signs are to keep the snow away from me. You can get buried under fifty feet of the icky stuff for all I care. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ick, hope you’re better now Zombie!

My first day doing post office irk was kinda dull, but not difficult; I’m not sorry I’m not there long term, but a few weeks should be fine. They have a cheap canteen, so I’m not gonna bother making lunch to bring tomorrow.

Luckily it’s on the same side of town as juggling club, so I could at least join everyone in the pub after, even if I missed the actual club bit.

I actually arrived at the pub at the same time as the rest of the group did, and just pretended I’d been there the whole time. I think two of 'em didn’t twig

Anyway, it’s bed time for me!

Harley-Davidson motorcycle shops. Let me know what country you are in and I can check the atlas for dealers. Or just look through their website. Their boots are designed well enough, and made well enough, that I can spend 8+ hours a day on my feet in them and get two or more years out of a pair. And I am tough on boots.
