I enjoyed PB Max candy bars back in the '80s. They disappeared without warning. Since some of my friends have unhealthy fixations on these delectable confectionary treats, they called me to see if I remembered who made the PB Max. They couldn’t find it out, and neither could some vintage candy buffs with whom they corresponded. So, we looked up the trademark at the USPTO and found out they were registered by Mars, Incorporated. Interestingly, Mars had filed a fresh application (Dec. 2002) for the trademark.
Anyone else remember the PB Max bar fondly? Does anyone have any idea why and when it was taken off the market? Does anyone have any idea if it’s coming back? Is it still available anywhere?
yes, I remember PB max. I ate them back in the early 90’s shortly before they disappeared. I don’t know why they were discontinued, but they tasted great.
Because like Josta, they were yummilicious and God hates us! I hope that they bring them back exactly the way they were, not just slap the name on some crappy candy bar.
Wow…I hadn’t thought about that candy bar for years, but suddenly it’s come rushing back to me. Maybe its still being sold in the same places you can buy Crystal Pepsi.
The Mars, Inc. (http://www.mars.com) website (disclaimer: lots and lots and lots of Flash!) doesn’t have an general purpose ask us a question email address unfortunately.
And I wouldn’t get your hopes up because they renewed the trademarks, that’s probably just standard practice to protect the brands that they own and doesn’t mean they’re about to resurrect it.
