The Perfection, thriller on Netflix

No spoilers as this has only been released for 4 days on Netflix.

Essentially a bizarre movie about a young cello prodigy, played by Allison Williams (known for HBO’s Girls, and Jordan Peele’s Get Out) whose career was cut short 10 years ago due to her terminally ill mother. The movie begins with the death of her mother and she reconnecting with her former mentor/teacher played by Steven Weber (known for his role on Wings).

Generally an engaging movie with various twists and turns that initially don’t make sense. Is this a drama, a supernatural thriller, a skin-i-max flick ???

I would give it 3.5 to 4 out of 5 stars. Definitely worth a watch at home, if you have Netflix.

I started watching this over the weekend, based on the vague description. It started out interesting enough and then it turned into a vomit fest. After the first businessman gets sick I thought “I hope we’re not going to have more scenes like that” and then sure enough, the whole painfully drawn out scene on the bus. Blecccch. I even turned it back on the next day and thought, once they were kicked of the bus that the story would progress into being about them finding their way to town. Nope, more pukey badness, NOW WITH MORE SUBDERMAL ROACHES!!!

That being said, I wanted to see how it ended so I read about it on Wiki and it apparently goes to some interesting places. Now that I have an understanding of what was going on, I’d be willing to finish watching it.

I hope that wasn’t too thread shitty, Omar Little. Folks should give it a try.

I can definitely see many people giving up on it once the movie gets to where you spoilered it. Hence, my comment that the movie makes various turns that don’t appear to make sense. In the end it wraps up nicely, and kind of fits in the thriller genre.

I just watched it and was kind of blown away by it. It helps very much to have no idea what it is about and just let the movie surprise you. I just kind of went into it blind, didn’t even look at the description or any pictures from it. It helps to have no expectations for this one.

I would advise anyone watching it to reach the 45-50 minute mark before quitting on it.
