Or last week. Or the week before that. Or the week before that.
I am in full agreement with the OP. Enough already!
You probably won’t be surprised by this, but up here in Seattle, we get anxious if we have too many days of blue skies and sunshine in a row.
"Man, the air really needs to get washed out… and I wonder how the snowpack is doing… and the rivers, man, think about the rivers, and the watershed, and for God’s sake, Mr. Bright Sky Ouchie Ball, go the fuck away!"
Really.
Pshaw you weak-spined girlymen! This weather is great! Finally get to see some green instead of the horrible ugly brown and yellow that is usual for California winters. The rain smells so nice and the grey sky reminds me of the pacific northwest instead of the pit that is SoCal.
Bonus: My car’s clean for the first time in months!
Rain rain rain… :o
< Milli Vanilli >
Blame it on the rain…

I have one that does. (SMUG) But I don’t have your rain.
Wimp and Double Wimp
Warning, there’s some cute kid pix in there, too.
Oh, man. That made me bust out laughing. Oregon seems pretty similar but not quite as bad. I don’t think we’ve gone a week without it raining at least three times in the past five months.
Having grown up in SoCal during the great drought (showers once a week, only flush when brown), now living in NorCal and loving our normal, occasionally wet weather I must say:
Damn, I picked the right month to go on a “business trip” to Maui!
/one day of rain in the past week
/time to hit the waves!
As long as folks out there keep building houses in the prime land for wildfires, I’m glad to hear that it’s raining. Granted, I don’t want to see you folks get inundated, but the reality is that forests and urban interface of the west have been ridiculously dry for a number of years, and every year we go through an evil fire season in the west. Maybe it won’t be quite so bad this year.
Heh! Youngsters
I was thinking of a much older one:
…it never rains it California
But boy let me warn ya…
Ir Pours…
Man it pours
I’m up in NorCal on business but the news from down South is crazy. The 101 is totally shut down South of Santa Barbara and the alternate route through Ojai is closed too. At this time there is no way to get from Santa Barbara to Ventura/L.A. by car or train.
The payroll guy where my wife works lives in Ventura and they had to rent a fucking helicopter to get him in or no one would get paid. Now maybe they’ll think about cross training.
I can’t wait to take that little puddle jumper flight from SJC to SBA tomorrow.
Haj
Then who will build the ark?
I would mildew in that weather, I’m sure of it.
Um, here it’s kind of warm, and wet though not rainy. We’re getting a weird kind of mist/ fog stuff that makes it look as if it has rained. Almost fell down and busted my ass on the way to work today. The sidewalk was incredibly slippery.
Is this why you guys drink so much coffee?
As for the OP: Do you want freezing rain? We here in Ohio can give freezing rain! Not right now, but a few weeks ago we would have loved real rain, not the kind that makes sheets of ice that bring down trees, power lines, roofs, roads…
I hope it snows in LA .
Being Los Angeles and Hollywood, I think Industrial Light and Magic[sup]TM[/sup] should do it.
The part of Noah will be played by Matt Damon.
Sure, but the problem is that ILM is up in San Rafael…
Don’t count on it. Most of the rain will wash off and very little will ever replenish the aquifiers.
If anything, the rains will sprout quite a bit of new green growth that will dry out before the end of summer and create so much falammable tinder that late summer/early autumn forest fires in So. Cal. will probably be worse than average.
Why do you think I’m housebound? I set up that whole getting hit by a car thing with a friend of mine so that I could get out of walking to and from work in the rain. Then we called in some favors with a couple doctors we have some incriminating photos of and I was set.
The insurance fraud and my pending settlement is just icing on the cake.
Ah, I knew it had to be something like that. You crafty little thing, you.
Hey! I came out to SoCal from Ohio too!
And yes, I must agree on the rain. I like rainy weather, I think perfect skies are just boring, but this is way too much! I haven’t been able to get my laundry done because it will go from a light drizzle to crazy downpours in mere seconds and it has not stopped raining in some form or another for DAYS! Plus, we have all this rain and no good thunderstorms. I miss nice thunderstorms.
