The Random Wikipedia thread

It’s simple. Go to www.wikipedia.com , click “Random Article” ONCE, and post a link (and a short description please!) of what you get.

I got an entry on Sanger, California. I was going to post an interesting quote from the article but frankly there isn’t one.

Next?

Heh, a link to the Friends episode: The One Where Rachel Smokes

I got Tweedsmuir North Provincial Park and Protected Area which goes on to say that Tweedsmuir North Provincial Park and Protected Area is, get this, a provincial park in British Columbia. That’s the whole article.

The Death Trip Continues, which is apparently a rare EP by a band I never heard of (Static-X).

Had it not been for this thread, I’d likely never have learned of John Daido Loori, an author and artist who serves as abbot of the Zen Mountain Monastery in the Catskills of New York.

Dang…my coding got screwed up. Here it is again:

The Death Trip Continues

TCNJ

Oh, wait… That’s uncyclopedia… just a sec.

Jonathan Fast Son of a Communist fan of Gladiator films, apparently. Jonathan is unlike his father in that he prefers violence and school rampage shootings.

I got TI MSP430 - an article on a computer subject that I can barely comprehend.

I mean, seriously, what does “The device comes in a variety of configurations featuring the usual peripherals: 10/12/14/16-bit ADCs, PWM, comparators, timers, USART, LCD driver, watchdog, HW multiplier, internal oscillator, etc. Apart from some older EEPROM (MSP430C3xx) and high volume OTP versions, all of the devices are in-system programmable via JTAG or BSL (Boot Strap Loader via RS-232 link).” mean?

Pope Benedict VI:

Bummer of a way to go.

Vanaprastha APprently it’s a hunidyu designation:

[quote]

A vanaprastha (from Sanskrit vana, forest, and prus, dwelling) is a person who is living in the forest as a hermit after partially giving up material desires.

Barry Laden

Writer and entrepreneur, created the Laden Showroom, the UK’s largest retail space.

ACK! The largest showroom and retail space for showcasing fashion designers. Note to self: Preview is your friend.

Essentially a list of the winners. The only ones I’ve heard of are the US categories. Looks like the show “A Bit of a Do” did quite well.

Wow. I drive through Sanger every day on my way to work, my best friend is a teacher at Sanger High, and my wife just quit her job at the Sanger newspaper. You are right, though. There is nothing interesting about Sanger…its a shitty little place.

But, two-time Super Bowl winning coach Tom Flores is from there.

Luke Guttridge, professional footballer.

Cleveland City Council

Is it odd, or not, that there is someone with the last name of Cleveland currently serving on the council?

Now I know that Move Records “is an Australian classical music record label that was started in 1968 by Martin Wright. It concentrates primarily in classical music, particularly Melbourne based musicians and composers.”

That’s the entire article, by the way.

Marlitharn, I went to your link and didn’t see a “Random Article”, link so I can’t play. What, oh what, did I do incorrectly?

Jake, any Wikipedia page has a “Random article” link over on the left nav-bar. Or you can click here to go to a random page.

I got the Battle of Kressenbrunn, fought in 1260 between Bohemia and Hungary. The Bohemian force was led by Premysl Ottokar II while the Hungarians ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz.
