The Really Bad Cookies and Other Stuff MMP

That sucks, phouka. Hope it turns up!

Hurrah for Friday! I am so glad it’s finally here, it’s been a long and rather traumatic week over in my corner.

Today I took myself out for a little stroll around campus to drop off our departmental exam papers to the exams office. Partly it was because the deadline is today and partly it was to get away from the incessant chatter from my co-irker.

I’m trying to be nice to her because it’s her birthday today but she just hasn’t stopped going on about the funeral we went to on Tuesday for the lady whose job I have been covering. It would be very rude of me to smack co-irker in the chops and remind her that the funeral was not all about her, it was about Janet.

I had a very nice chat with my line manager yesterday where she outlined her plan to keep me on as a temp until the exclusion period in my severance agreement runs out later this year, and then just absorb me into this position permanently, but I rather fear I may have killed co-irker by then. She did say that she was aware of the situation and that when (not if) it all got too much, I was welcome to head over to her office (she’s based in a different building) and have a rant about it!

Still, 'tis Friday and I will at some point this weekend be baking a cake that involves a tin of tomato soup. I may also be making Marmite cocktails too, for sheer devilment.

Wow! At that price I could almost afford the daily air fare … almost. :dubious:

We are going to the zoo tomorrow! That’s my birthday present this year, yea!

 Mine is 900 for 1300sq. ft.

I’ve been so busy, I haven’t keep up this week.

:hugs, trouts, and [sub][sub]gropes[/sub][/sub] to whoever needs them :

Yay for birthday zoos, Apes!

Anyone else? Not yet? Then

or

Oh no! :frowning: My dad lost his once and found it attached to the bottom of his shirt.

I’ve got to get out of here. Between the newly-engaged ditz going on and on and on and on about her wedding planning and the “no bananas for my baby because they have sugar in them” nutzo and the company founder who hangs around and pretty much just talks on his speaker phone all day to his family (and is now talking to our resident physicist and showing how stupid he is) - anyway, my head is about to asplode. We’ve already decided to leave at 11. I don’t know if I can make it for 15 more monutes…

<headdesk>

Hope you find your thingy roo!

Things are still goin’ pretty smooth. I envision leavin’ this place around oneish. Two hours and fifteen minutes to go as of this post.

The irkplace is a ghost town today. Last day of spring break, and the few faculty who were around earlier this week have flown the coop.

Thank you, freebie, and I’m awfully sorry about your coffee cup. I tried to think if I had anything that old, that sentimental, and that much a part of my daily life, and I couldn’t come up with anything. :frowning:

On a slightly different topic, I thought I’d share my funny/gross story from a couple of nights ago.

I had a dream that I was being forced to look at a rotting corpse in a forest. The thing was, the visual element wasn’t bad. It looked like a scene from a crime show. It was the smell. No matter how I turned my head or covered my nose, I couldn’t get away from it.

Then I woke up and found one of my kitties had just settled down near my head. This is the kitty who occasionally cuts the most god awful silent but deadlies imaginable. So, at least I knew the dream was a little reality-based.

even better!

Oh, yeah, and the cycle of Spring Break weeks has started out here as well. Several of my coworkers are having to take at least a couple of days off to watch the kids. I can’t help but think that if I were still in teaching, I could make some major moolah by creating a Spring Break camp. Rent a conference room, write up a science or art or writing lesson, maybe even all three. Keep the kiddles safely and constructively occupied for the hours of a school day.

Why didn’t I think of this when I was a teacher?

Oh, yeah, because I wanted absolutely NOTHING TO DO WITH CHILDREN during Spring Break.

We had a meeting, after prompting from me but…I actually got the info that I needed and can now do much work until I need him again later to review. It took just 20 minutes for him to give me the info. I has no trouts, but there is some salmon and tilapia in the freezer…

Now I can have a weekend!

Happy Firday!

It’s a whopping 12 degrees above freezing outside.
Oh BOY! Spring is a comin

Back to MVA today and hopefully Sah-kid will pass the test.

I think he failed on purpose because he doesn’t want his license, so I told him we will keep going back and he will get to hear me cuss the entire drive, about the horrible parking, how hot and crowded it is, how long the lines are and everything else I can find to cuss about.
Which considering it’s the MVA there is always lots to cuss about.

I’m sure once he gets his license I won’t see him or my truck anymore.

Then, if he gets his learners, off to the bank to add him to my account so he can collect his final SS check. Only now I’m not sure he will be eligible for it so it may not be worth it anyway. I’ll fill out the paper work anyway, the worst they can do is tell me no.

Then he will have a license, my truck and his own debit card.
Maybe I need to rethink this plan.

Baker I wish I lived in Kansas.
How much snow do y’all get?
It’s just amazing to me how prices can vary so much in one country.

My peanut butter cookies are not Really Bad, but they lack a certain peanutty, oleaginous lusciousness. What do I do to brighten them up? Crunky peanut butter, nutmeg, and/or vanilla are a few things suggested in web based recipes.

I hate you.
But you knew that.

BoDoug - we can always return to cookies. There are no rules in the MMP.

So, after spending yesterday’s lovely sun inside tidying up, I get the sudden urge to go out and do things today, when it’s not stopped raining all day. My subconscious doesn’t like me, I swear.

I’m curious about the Marmite cocktails, Boofae, even as a convicted Marmite lover, that does sound a little… unnerving?

Howdy all

Seems like most Mumpers are doing well

I am off to work for the hippies, with their hula hooping and weed smoking. Tonight’s music should be good, we have the Bernie Worell Orchestra, he is a member of P-Funk and there are horns. Yeah. Having a horn section usually means a band can really play.

That’s all I have for now

Have a great Friday all

Jim
