I’m not sure where I heard it. A news bite or blurb about one of the daughters having a 3rd baby and Sarah leaving some chateau (borrowed) and going to Spain to be with the daughter and family.
It was about the time her emails to Epstein were published.
I know her and Andrew were kicked outta the Royal digs they were in.
Well you are wrong. She is not living with her kids. It’s very easy enough to look this up. Her sons-in-law both own businesses and they don’t want to be tainted by her presence. She hasn’t even met her most recently born grandchild.
There is a show (or programme) on Netflix called The Gentlemen based on a film of the same name, both by Guy Ritchie. The first season (or series) was on Netflix in 2024 and the second season (or series) will be available next month. According to the New York Times (gift link), Meghan has expressed interest in appearing in the third season (or series), though there’s no plans yet to make a third one.
The series films in Britain. The potential job may offer a clue behind the abrupt decision revealed this week by Harry and Meghan to move their family back to the country after six years in self-exile in the United States during a royal rift with Harry’s family.
So, to recap: Meghan is in early talks for an unidentified role in a season of television that does not yet exist.
He said he didn’t want to be one of her tampons. What he said he wanted was to live in her trousers, and then she joked that he’d be reincarnated as a pair of underwear, and then he said “Or, God forbid a Tampax. Just my luck!”
But it wasn’t me who was wrong. It was some report by an obviously misinformed reporter.
But, yeah. When and if I get the time or give two shits I’ll look it up and try to assess whether this writer, reporter or news outlet is above reproach. Which I don’t have the energy to do, at the moment.
This post is not really appropriate to Politics & Elections, bordering on attacking someone for correcting you also. As you don’t really care, I’ll make it easy on you. DO NOT POST in this thread any more. Banned from the thread.
I don’t think this has been mentioned before. While Prince Harry won an invasion-of-privacy-case against Murdoch’s News Group newspapers last year, both Harry and a bunch of other aristocrats and celebrities including Elton John lost big time last month in their lawsuit against the publisher of the Daily Mail. Collectively, they’ve now been ordered to pay £9.54 million to the publisher, Associated Newspapers, for the apparently staggering legal costs that the publisher incurred in defending itself. The judge ruled that the conduct by Harry and the other claimants was “unreasonable to a high degree”.
A pretty embarrassing setback for Harry, who I believe is the first royal in well over a century to get involved in a legal skirmish.
Basically everything seems to stem from a seeming inability to live within her means and repeated floundering attempts to redress that. Including being caught flat-out selling access to Prince Andrew for cash once during one of her broke periods. It was a tabloid sting and the UK tabloids are the tabloids, but she fully fessed up to doing it and apologized for the embarrassment, saying it was because she was fairly broke at the time (2010, so some time ago). This sort of little league corruption happens behind closed doors all the time of course, but it is always embarrassing to the royals when it leeks out into the public eye.
The very related Epstein stuff is just vaguely icky, if not in any way actionable so far. But throw it in with the various debts, bankruptcies and the influence peddling and she’s at least a minor embarrassment. Not at her ex’s level of gross, but still not an exemplar of good public relations for the royal family.
Highly unlikely, would cause a right stink, unless it was at a private event. More likely, they’ll make public appearances on behalf of the charities they support. Fee-free.
FYI, the proposal for Meghan to appear in the not-yet-approved third season of The Gentlemen was withdrawn, after “the backlash in the UK was so intense, it became untenable to go forward.”
Given that, any attempt by Harry and Meghan to charge for public appearances would probably also face strong backlash.
I can’t say I’ve noticed any particularly fierce backlash to the acting job - in the media or on social. Plenty of royals work for a living. People just tend to have an issue when royals make money off their position - hence making money off public appearances.
