The Republican Party is the Party of Evil

Which is why they are so against public education.

Which is why they are against doing anything to keep guns out of the hands of 18 year olds who buy AR-15s and go shoot up schools full of little kids. It causes parents to pull their kids out of public schools and move to religious/home schooling. Which furthers the goals of Republicans to keep a poorly-educated populace that never learns how to get along with each other.

So easy to manipulate.

Its also why the solutions they do propose involve expensive mandates, (such as hire a school security force, reconstruct schools so there is only on entrance, install bullet proof doors in every classroom, etc. ) which are likely to further burden already underfunded schools.

Exactly. Spend money on teaching materials, teacher salaries, school counselors, etc., or spend it on hardening your school against domestic terrorist attack.

You mean out of the hands of 18 year olds who buy AR-15s and go shoot up public schools inflicted with all those “undesirables” such as certain minorities.

By the way, when was the last school shooting at a private school?

The only one I can remember is the Amish school shooting in 2006.

Republican Kevin McCarthy, the House Minority Leader, offered his views on who is responsible for the January 6 uprising. He thinks “everybody in the country bears some responsibility based on what has been going on - the riots in the streets, the others.”

McCarthy has said this before. He feels everyone has some responsibility for the uprising. He has not come forth with any details on how he feels the people who called for the uprising and the people who participated in the uprising are somehow equaled in responsibility with the people who did neither of these things.

I don’t know. Maybe he feels eighty-one million of us are responsible because we voted for Biden and left Trump and his supporters with no choice except to try to overthrow the government.

Well, “Look what you made me do!” is about 90% of their strategy, soooo…

It’s like a bank robbery. The robber wouldn’t have been able to steal all that money if everyone else in town hadn’t deposited it in the bank. So why single out the robber as being responsible?

Yeah. Good luck arming those teachers!

"Authorities arrested 31 members of the white supremacist group Patriot Front near an Idaho pride event Saturday after they were found packed into the back of a U-Haul truck with riot gear.
The men were standing inside the truck wearing khakis, navy blue shirts and beige hats with white balaclavas covering their faces when Coeur d’Alene police stopped the U-Haul and began arresting them on the side of the road.
Coeur d’Alene Police Chief Lee White says “they came to riot downtown.”

Calling oneself a patriot isn’t what makes one a patriot, republican dipshits.

Now now, they might have been Green Party. Ok, that’s unlikely.

Interesting. It is my perception that Idaho has historically been one of the ground zeros of the white supremacist movement, going back years and years. Seeing that the police were ready, and willing, to squash this speaks to a new vector,

So this is how fucked up and twisted the Republican party has gotten now, with that fuck-knuckle of a ditz Lauren Boebert getting “Christians”, in their place of worship, to cheer on the death of someone - in this case of course it’s Biden - in some fucking “Family Camp Meeting”.

Ah yes, nothing like making your “religious” constituents evil, too.

Missed edit window:

Huh, no idea it was also an anti-Obama internet rallying cry that goes back to at least 2009, as well as kindly David Perdue also going there, in 2016.

That Bible! Something in there for everyone!

We better be hoping that the following does not occur,

Too many, too often: ‘Thoughts and prayers’? Maybe you’ve noticed that prayers don’t do anything? If we want to do something about this then we have to do something!
Boebert: You make a good point…

I recently heard about this organization and checked out their website. Are they attempting to be the Right’s ACLU, for lack of a better label? Or is it pretty innocuous? I don’t want to be crying wolf or something along those lines. It looks to me like a way to attack universities and such with lawsuits, but I’m certainly no lawyer. Is anyone else familiar with thefire.org?

Can’t speak to this particular organization. If the Christian Right has an ACLU type organization that files lawsuits seeking to promote it’s worldviews, the Alliance Defending Freedom is probably the best candidate.

I’m not really surprised, but all the same: Republicans block gun reform bills. Go fuck yourselves, you festering carbuncles.
