The Republican Party is the Party of Evil

You glossed over the “May his days be few…” part.

Devil, scripture, y’all know the drill…

Hm, the last few posts raises the question: what did the Bible mean by “days be few”: in office or in life specifically? Surely there must be a way to look up the original language online, but fat lot of good it would do me…

Well, if you would read up 7 posts,…

so, since we all know that Bobert is a true Christian, she was quoting the word of God, and thus was praying for Biden’s death.

It’s been said a couple times in the thread already, but the next line contains some subtle clues…

“May his children be fatherless and his wife a widow.”

Yeah, but I was asking about the plausible deniability. I thought that the “plausible deniability” explanation could’ve been what the Bible meant (as opposed to Boebert, whose meaning we all understand) and I was thinking that the actual, original, untranslated text would clarify whether “days be few” was intended by the translator to be a metaphor or not.

And I see Lance Turbo has addressed that aspect; that I admit I’d missed.

I’m not ignoring it. In a sentence which talks about somebody being replaced in office, I think the most direct interpretation of the other half of the sentence is that it refers to days in office.

And if Boebert had quoted that line in reference to Biden, I would agree she was praying for his death.

Whatever you say man.

So, context means absolutely nothing to you?

It’s Lauren Boebert, ffs. This is a woman who wants to wear a Glock in Congress.

This isn’t new either.

This shit followed Obama around from his first day in office…

… to his last day…

Folks who say this know what they’re doing.

Unless you believe that when David Perdue said it in 2016 he was just hoping that Obama lost his next election.

I doubt very, very much that Lauren Boebert knows fuck all about bible passages. Or what they mean. She was surfing the web and thought that sounded good.

These people live for sound bites that will rile up the latest mob that may support them.

This is true. But it wouldn’t be the first time she repeated a joke that she heard someone else say that she didn’t understand.

I fully agree that Boebert is a horrible person and a horrible politician. But we should condemn her for the horrible things she has undeniably said and the horrible things she has undeniably done. And not speculate on the horrible things she is thinking.

We shouldn’t fight dirty against the Republicans. They’re far more experienced at it. We should stick with our strongest weapon which is that we’re telling the truth while they’re telling lies.

The problem is that lies are halfway across the state before the truth is finished tying it’s shoes.

This hasn’t worked since Nixon.

Really? Is Donald Trump serving his second term right now?

Republicans can tell lies about who won in 2020. Democrats can look at who’s in the White House. The Truth beat the Lies.

Telling lies is easy. And it works if the other side is lazy. Telling the truth takes work. But if we’re willing to do the work, truth beats lies.

You forgot to say should before beat. Look at the Texas GOP’s new platform. They’re not chucking that in there because people in their state don’t believe the lies.

Yup, and pointing it out is in no way fighting dirty against the Republicans.
I mean, FOR FUCKS SAKE, calling out their dog whistles is telling the truth.
