It’s almost refreshing to hear a MAGA conspiracy theory that could be plausibly argued: ‘Biden is keeping the gas prices high to try and force you to buy an electric car.’ That’s leaps and bounds more rational than ‘Democrats are running a baby eating ring in the basement of a pizza place.’

I don’t buy it. Unless you’re up to your neck in conspiracy theories I can’t see anything the Dems are doing that makes voting for them over todays Republicans unconscionable.
See, I don’t get this. What’s wrong with buying an EV? Also, doesn’t the government give you a tax break if you have an EV or hybrid?
It’s part of the namby-pambization of the Manly Men! Real Men™ use fuels that can explode when you want them to! They want cars that leak oil!
And that just makes it worse! What, they think Manly Men can’t afford to buy their own cars, or something?!?!
Not just that, but the tend to say that an EV is worse for the environment because of how the electricity is produced (“fossil fuels, i tells ya!”), and that the batteries tend to leak toxic chemicals, and so on.
The amount of FUD being created by the fossil fuel industries about EV’s and the willingness of the useful idiots to spread it around is just staggering.
Recently I had a guy “prove” to me that lithium mines were terrible by posting a bunch of pictures of copper mines, coal mines, etc. that were posted by people pretending they were lithium mines. One was even a picture from a Snopes site debunking it!
They don’t even know how to read their own cites.
