The Republicans are swine cunts

Yes, because, of course, every adherent of the GOP is the epitome of reasoned political discourse.

As with Scylla, you are only attempting to self-justify not making a change that you have no intention of anyway. The blind malice of some on the left allows you to feel comfortable in ignoring the issues, and the very real problems the current administration has caused. But that doesn’t matter to y’all, because the left is rude.

I heard a rumor that instead of forming anything like a coherent platform for 2006, the dems are going to offer free labotomies to registered Republicans so we can switch parties.

Yeah, because, you know, Aeschines represents the entirety of American leftist thought and rhetoric, and if rude and shrill is the alternative, well, cast your vote for evil warmongering and profiteering, all the way.

I’m with MaxTheVool. “We’re the best because you’re all shrill and condescending crybabies,” is sooo 2004.

Oh man, this board is going to be totally unhinged when the Republicans, yet again, win in '08. Then again, the canidate might not be offensively incompetent…but there’s no guarantee to that, either – why stop with what’s working?

Jehovah forbid! If Bush were to hear all the bwadbwadtings people say about him, he might shed a pearly tear. Such a sensitive soul!

Why should he be? Neither case is true.

First off humpy, yet a fucking again, will you have a shred of honor and go back to your shit-and-run Pit thread about CNN?

Second, what the fuck are you blabbering about? Have you ignored the fact that virtually every single poll out of Iraq has shown that they view us as an occupying force and want us to leave?

I like you.

You’re funny.

A liar, but a funny one.

Bullshit. I’ll discuss any issue. I haven’t ignored any issues. It is simply untrue to claim, as you seem to be doing, that I am using the asshole left as an excuse to ignore legitimate issues.

I’ve severed my Republican affiliation because I’m unhappy with the party.

The other thing is that it’s not “the blind malice of some,” the blind malice is the consensus reality of the left these days. It’s the party of stupidity, hatred, and pessimism.

The distribution of total dumbass scumbags to conscientious liberals in this thread is about proportionate to what I see in the world. About 5 to 1.

Sorry, but attend to thine own house and whatnot.

I suppose it would be fruitless to point out that the Democrats are ALSO swine cunts. I say ‘the’ I mean to say ‘some’. Not ALL Republicans and not ALL Democrats are, as you say, swine cunts. Just the ones who disagree with your personal idea of how the country ought to be run. Bush ran us headlong into this “war” on (what we can only assume by the legion of broadcasters willing to tell us so) shaky intelligence. Facts are that there are good things happening in the new Iraq because of our presence, but somehow, we miss those things in favor of the sensationalist hype, that causes kneejerkers like the OP. But I digress…

We shouldn’t have been there. We are. It’s only prudent now to stay until the mess is cleaned up. This is akin to the Fire Chief in your town setting your house on fire. No, he shouldn’t have done it, but it still needs to be put out.

And the whole Libby-Delay-Cunningham thing? Lightweight bullshit. Hardly worth mentioning. Somebody’s always under the gun. It’s how American Politics works. If it’s not Scooter, it’s Web Hubbell, if it’s not him, it’s Nixon. Who cares. Both parties need to let this retaliatory horseshit lie, and focus on the issues. ALL the issues, not just national security.

And you, Aeschines need to relax.

Wow, it’s like Reeder on crack hacked an open account! (No, not an accusation, you all know better)

This is hilarious. It’s to the point there’s no debate with some. I know I’m pretty hard-line and have to retract quite a few things or clarify them, but this OP?

The President of the United States gives a speech to address the “exit strategy” of a war, truncated as it may be what with all the, you know, national security bullshit every other cunt has tried to follow. And it sends the Left-wing into a tizzy!

I mean, this fucking cunt Bush lies to an obviously less intelligent and gullible Left about the reasons for war based on raw data available to them. (Yes, it was available. THe raw data is what you accuse him of spinning, when your side could have easily spun it the same. They didn’t take the time to do so and are playing catch up.) They apparently couldn’t be bothered with the facts they see now when spending their time writing a bill or amendment or whatever the fuck they were doing to get re-elected.

So he goes out and states a (maybe semi-ambiguous) plan to end the war, and you’re bitching about it!

Approval ratings?!?!?!? Are you still in fucking High School??? Leadership isn’t a fucking popularity contest. It involves costly and dire decisions at times. Over the course of history, yes even your beloved heroes have have failed in perfection. “History is what judges us” is a tried and true statement.

You know why FDR was so popular? In a nutshell, people didn’t have instantaneous updates of every minutiae happening at that moment it happened. As far as my little brain can recall, WWII wasn’t going so well the first few years. Of course, Americans as a whole were offered news items of some of the good the Allies were doing those years. Maybe a factor today? And yes, there were war protesters then as well.

Here’s a homework assignment. Count the national news stories of bad things, and compare them to good things. Granted, a school or hospital being built isn’t worth the life of a soldier to some. But to many Iraqi’s that are able to send their children to be healed or educated it means the world to them. America has not only a history of slavery (that it ended and still fights around the world), but a history of helping those that are enslaved to have a chance to enjoy freedom. Does it always work? No. And those that expect it to always work are the one’s truly guilty of hubris. We don’t know the true outcome, though, until years after. That’s the point of history being a judge. I’d like hold onto my idea of Germany and France (for whatever else I say) being just a bit better off today than they were 60 years ago.

Also keep in mind the scope and complexity of WWII. It was not an easy war to win by the Allies. The Allies were fighting the Axis (2 of 3 major players were white Christian nations) and it took all those years and deaths to end the conflict. In theatres/terrain that were familiar on the European front. Now we have deserts, ancient tribal shit, and cowards that see nothing wrong with fighting some cause without the balls to declare themselves a group openly. I’ll give Hitler this much. He issued uniforms and organized the army. Even then it took over 4 years to defeat Germany. And the US in '41 had the benefit of Western Europe’s intelligence from years prior.

This war isn’t SoCom on your PS2, dickhead. It isn’t resolved in a week and isn’t designed to be concluded with a couple of your buddies that have to log back in because someone forgot to enter a cheat code. It’s real life and death. The life and death reality that every member of the military agrees to when enlisting. Nobody wants them to die. Or are you stating you think Bush is actively doing what he can to kill off as many Americans as he can? I fear you actually do think that.
This has become mere entertainment to me. (The lashing out of the Left). There is no reasoning with some. Others are amiable enough and I respect the protest. I certainly won’t be a drone with whatever the White House says anymore, but in cases like the OP, I’m done trying to defend the attacks. What’s the point? A defense is intended to be heard by the accuser. There are people more articulate and better writers than me that can do so. Sometimes, all I can do is sit back and watch the useless ranting of those that live for the sole purpose of the “other” side losing. I’ll keep trying to cheer for all of us. It’s very difficult at times, but I’m trying.

Aren’t we still in Germany and Japan? I say full withdrawal today!!! (Had to get that in)

Forgot to preview. buttonjockey I was writing my post as you posted yours. Wasn’t a response to it. Could be some confusion around here.

What the fuck are you blabbering about?

Virtually every poll? Can you link to one?

Wait.

Link to one that shows the majority is pissed we’re there? Link to one that shows a majority is pissed we showed up? I’m interested in the source of this poll that shows the majority wants Saddam back in his Palaces(sssssss).

Thanks in advance for providing the cite.

This is such a transparently dishonet and disgusting abdication of responsibility, and a ten foot tall strawman.

If you’re going to remain loyal to the party of Bush, then own up to it, asshole. Don’t duck behind a single democrat as an excuse. Just as it’s tiny minded and retarded to characterize the entire Democratic party by one person who is simply expressing his own private opinion and is not understood by ANYBODY to represent the party as a whole, I’m not going to use your fuckheadedness, Martin Hyde, as a lame excuse to vote Democratic in 2006.

Is Aeschines really the largest issue in this debate, you cunting moron?

Cognitive dissonance got you down?

Sure. But if you haven’t been doing any reading, at all, then you really shouldn’t be posting. We’re here to fight ignorance, not spread it.

One little two little three little citey cites.

Cute. But bullshit and you know it. What was my original claim that you’re now trying to shift the goalposts on?

What are you talking about?
“We don’t want the US to stay in our country” ≠ “We want Sadaam to be president.”

You’re welcome, but I wish you’d done the reasearch before holding forth in this thread.

Um, yes they are.

Point 1, the US military estimates that 5-10%, depending on which report you look at, of the insurgents are foreign fighters. This means…they’re Iraqi.

Point 2, well, read the linked polls, look at the statemens by Former Prime Minister Allawi about how abuses are as bad under the current government as they were under Saddam, etc.

And duffer, that was really, really sad.

Statements, too.

This is what I get for not previewing.

Thank you Kitchen, as of the last time I’d heard there weren’t any good estimates of the composition of the insurgency.

You are totally correct, however. I’ll provide a cite to back you up before you’re gainsaid by someone who hasn’t read it.

(What a surprise, crimestop, yet again.)

You know the more I think about it the more this kind of thing just ENRAGES me, you cunting fuck. What you’re saying is, “You better watch it. If you express yourself in this manner, you migh cause your party some votes.” You’re implicitly blackmailing for censorship. You’re suggesting that you’ll hold your vote over Aeschines’s head to get him to shut up. Like you’d live up to your end of that implied bargain, you fuck. Like you’d really vote Democratic if Aeschines self-censored and toned down his rhetoric.

This is a common tactic of rightwing fucktards like Martin Hyde and Bill O’Reilly; a backhanded threat against the consequences of free speech.

Fuck you, you fucking fuck. You go ahead and vote Republican, and you go ahead and dishonestly suggest that you’re doing so because people you disagree with wouldn’t shut up. Aeschines and I have your vote covered and cancelled.

Typing in blind rage is rarely a good idea:
