The Republicans are swine cunts

Indeed lissener. The absolute lack of civic virtue displayed by high school popularity contest mentality like that is revolting.

“Naw, I’m not going to vote on the candidate, or the issues, or the policies. Instead, I’m going to vote based on what non-entity talking heads and people on message boards say. That’ll sure show 'em!”

Disgusting.

                                 X

Christ, those first two polls were taken while I was over there. Reading them doesn’t sound like anything I saw while I had my boots in the sand. And the third comes from the friggin’ Daily Telegraph. That’s the same fucking paper that makes the fucking Washington Post look like a right wing readerboard. Here’s one, grab a cite that’s non-partisan and perhaps less than 18 months old.

Luckily the plural of anecdote is not evidence.
Dodged a bullet there, eh?

The poll was conducted by the Ministry of Defence, it was only reported in the telegraph. The poll results are hardly fabricated, and I fail to see how you can discount them because of the paper that reports them. That’s the very definition of an ad hominem fallacy.

Pffffffffft. And again, pfffffft.
The Ministry of Defence is hardly a partisan organization, and that was a current cite which confirms the general trend as evinced by polls which were taken previously. Unless you have any counter evidence to offer, your case seems intelletually bankrupt.

Speaking as a limey, I’m not too sure how to interpret this since I’m not familiar with the political perspective of the Washington Post. It seems, however, that you’re asserting that the Daily Telegraph is a left wing paper. If this is so then you’re sorely mistaken. The Daily Telegraph is undoubtedly the most Right-wing of all Britain’s broadsheets. War floggers one and all, they pushed Bush & Blair’s various phony casus belli every chance they got, and then some. If the Daily Telegraph have acknowledged that a statistically significant percentage of Iraqi’s are cool with suicide attacks on our troops, you can be sure that the story is not only true, but the percentage is underestimated.

This idiocy gets on my nerves too. It’s just so blatently phony and hypocritical. If statements like Aeschines push you away from the Left, then how about statements, presented without comment, from Right wingers residing on Capitol Hill, all the way down to the rank and file?

Hateful quotes from Rank & File Republicans

The following quotes are from the Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler, a right wing blog that garners about 2000 hits a day.

He’s talking about Democrats, by the way.

Cindy Sheehan, btw.

That’s enough from that lunatic. Still, it is telling that a site full of unmitigated bile gets thousands of hits a day. Presumably 90%+ are Right Wingers. But Mischa is small fry compared to these fella’s, the Nobel Laureates of Little Green Footballs.com who receive over ten thousand hits a day.

The quotes above took me all of ten minutes to dig up and they really cover the whole gamut, don’t they? Racism, sexism, class hatred, gynophobia, islamophobia, homophobia, pretty much an ABC of intolerance and hatred. What’s more, Martin, I could go on like this all the live long day. There’s no shortage of hateful quotes from Right wingers. There is absolutely no doubt whatsoever that the Right Wing hold the absolutel fucking monopoly on venomous outbursts of bile and garbage. From the grassroots activists all the way up to the Senators on Capitol hill, they spew torrents of vile, hateful invective at such a rate it’s impossible to catalogue. If Aeschines rant genuinely put you off voting Democrat, how do these quotes from prominent Right Wing personalities, politicians, and bloggers make you feel?

There are issues in the op for discussion. Sure, it’s really really really really hard to tell what with all the swearing and references to porcine genitalia (dopers have some strange fetishes). They are there though.

1)Rather than formulate an exit (or if you prefer, victory) strategy for Iraq, the president has fallen back on his old “questioning me and/or the war itself hurts the troops” line.

2)There are some republicans who have questionable ethics.

Discuss.

OK, juvenile insults aside, what real good has this Republican-dominated era generated? Unlike their rhetoric, they’re spending our money like drunken sailors and concealing the truth about it. They have gotten us into folly of a war that they didn’t plan for properly, and have concealed the truth about that. Gave tax cuts that have driven up the deficit, mainly benefited those who don’t need it, and done very little to spur economic growth. They have been caught paying to put propaganda in the news, here and in Iraq. They have condoned and possibly ordered torture of human beings. They have ordered war actions that have killed thousands of innocent people in Iraq and Afghanistan, not to mention a whole bunch of our own citizens, in a war started on false pretenses. They have been operating secret prisons in Europe. They have ruined honest people who simply disagreed with their policies. They have alienated our allies and squandered more goodwill than most countries will ever have.

This is not the America that I grew up loving and respecting. We aren’t the good guys. We will be suffering the negative consequences of this administrations bellicose atrocities for generations to come.

Using a couple of hot button wedge issues, thay have hijacked the loyalty of honest, religious, hard-working people by using religion as a weapon, dividing this country on false dilemmas.

Our once great countries world class democracy, once the envy of the world, has been turned into a warmongering theocracy, not one iota better than the warmongering theocracies we are currently occupying.

Still, supposedly well-meaning people approve of all this shite simply because they were led to believe untruths put forth by this administration. As a reward for their loyalty, this administration sends their children off to die and their jobs overseas.

It is incomprehensible to me that paying a few bucks less in taxes makes all this OK for you people. Go to hell.

I don’t know but I’ve been told
Republican pig pussy is mighty cold.

I’ve been grappling with my political affiliation for years. Yes, the current administration does indeed suck. It’s sucks long and it sucks hard. I am a Republican and I used to be a proud one. Should I have to leave my party because some of them have become so corrupted they’ve forgotten most of the ideals on which the party was formed? I don’t know. I really don’t know. I do know that I used to like the idea of belonging to a political affiliation. If I can get over that, maybe I’ll officially leave the party and just become a little i independent with conservative leanings.

Very well put, An Arky.

Bravo.

And it contributes to the debate because it avoids the angry, hateful, foam-at-the-mouth tone of the OP, which really only gives ammunition to the other side.

I’m a registered Rep. and I rarely have vote Rep lately. If the candidates are the more evil candidates I jump parties or vote third Party. 2008 will decide if I finally give up on the Rep. party. If the put forth a moderate that I like, I’ll stay. If a Jeb Bush or religious right winger heads the ticket, I’ll reregister as a Dem. And hope they will track towards the middle.

Jim

Nice try, but you forgot one: They have tried amending the Constitution to discriminate against an entire segment of the American citizenry.

At least they only tried. Democrats succeeded (though thankfully such ugliness is behind us now).

Then again, considering Roe v. Wade, there is another segment of Americans discriminated against (the unborn). They aren’t even guaranteed the right to life!

This just shows you how fucked things are over here. Anything less than “way over to the far extreme right to the point of falling off a cliff” is viewed as a librul leftie commie rag.

Good grief, what an embarrassingly revealing slip-up.

Just to reiterate for a third time - the Daily Telegraph (popularly known as the ‘Torygraph’ over here) is very far right - further right than Rupert “Fox News” Murdoch’s Times - and has been pro-war for quite a long time.

It might perhaps be a reflection on your state of mind - or perhaps the partisan over-a-barrell “take me now, government” whipped news sources that you prefer - that because a right-wing broadsheet quotes MoD (that’s the pro-war British Government [your ally, remember] department in charge of the armed forces, many of whom are in the field) data without spinning it into a basket of bullshit, you declare it left of the Washington Post.

And in case your math is as messed up as your political analysis, the article is just over a month old.

That’s uhhh different.
But that sort of shit is A-OK. Just don’t have anyone from the other side express any dissatisfaction. That’s NOT OK. The “Left” doesn’t even come close to the bile that is spewed on a daily basis by the Right. From the top politicians right on down to the talking heads. But we on the Dope are being mean and hurting the poor righties feewings. Awwwwww.

Yes, those who still support the Bush administration apparently have no idea how isolated they are from world opinion. Who is left supporting the war:

(1) Tony Blair, dragging an unwilling Labour Party behind him. (Even the British Tories now seem to be against the war)

(2) Australia’s John Howard, with a rather more compliant Liberal Party behind him. (And unfortunately a lack of opposition from Kim Beazley).

(3) Most of the US media.

(4) And that’s about it.

Tee hee. Wing Nut Daily as a news citation. That’s like supplying ketchup as a vegetable.

Even though replying to it might make it appear that legitimizes it, allow me to comment that possibly black Americans are aware of which party right now is the party of inclusiveness.

Lincoln was a Republican, you know. Doesn’t mean he’d be one now.
