well, as some/many of you know, I auditioned for a select and elite group of singers at my school. The A Capella Choir of Brainerd Senior High School has long been revered as a top-notch singing chorus. They are Internationally known, and have been invited back MANY times to the places they have performed. Such places include France, Germany, Hawaii, Florida, and MANY other places.
I received word Yesterday (last day of school, Free at last… Free at last… Praise God Almighty, I’m free at last!) that I made it into the Choir, and will be singing Second Tenor
Next year for Spring Break I’m travelling to Italy with the Choir to perform. I couldn’t be more happy
Congratulations! There was a group like that at my high school (the Belle Airs, more of a jazz choir type of thing) and I was wild with envy at every concert I saw. Good for you for making!
Allow me to add my own to the congratulations. I know the position you’re in. Last year I tried out for a youth orchestra knowing that they would be touring Italy this summer, and was crushed when I didn’t make it in. Well, this semester they had some empty chairs that needed filling, and guess who they asked to audition? I leave June 12 for a 10-day tour.
I knew you’d make it in! (and I mean that in teh most entirely non sexual way possible.)
Congrats and Pouncy hugs! I like second Tenors because they don’t threaten my range (some high tenors need to remember they are still guys and get out of my octave, thanks) and I can still sing duets with them. (Teasing, teasing…)
Work hard and love the work…tell me when I can buy a CD/tape/bootleg recording, okay?
