The Mill is back open. New management and all. Friends of mine had lunch there last week. Mellow Mushroom is fine, too.

OK guys - I’m just throwing this out there. Let’s say 7:00 at the Mill - which I now believe is called the Grill.
I’ll make a list of who all is coming and post it later. If someone gets around to it before me feel free - I just may get fired if I continue my loads of time on this board. They seem to expect me to do my job here!
Also I’m making a new thread but I’ll spill the beans here first: boyfriend and I won’t be all-nighters. I just found out I’m pregnant.

I live in Leeds, but work in Trussville. And thank you for such a kind offer. Maybe one day this summer since I work a bit far from Birmingham itself. I can use that as a good excuse to take a half day off!
So The Grill (or whatever)at 7 PM it is? Great…this gal will be there. Can’t wait to meet you all, and many congrats on the baby-to-be, Rez. Having so many ourselves, (I have four and I think Aries28 has five) we can fill you full of advice that you can blissfully ignore. That’s the best kind.

I’m planning to be there, too, although I think hubby is going to stay home (he’s not a Doper, so he’s not too interested). The Grill at 7 pm sounds like a good plan.

Anybody got a digital camera? I think it’s a tradition to take photos of Dopefests and post them somewhere.
I have a digital camera, and will be happy to log the events. However…I have no place to upload the pictures, and even if I did, am not sure how to do it. (I just never have put pictures on the net before.) I also hope I remember to purchase batteries for the cam, as I’ve been needing to do that for weeks!
And this is shaping up very nicely! Sauron gets to pretend he’s Dean Martin surrounded by the GoldDiggers (man, I’m old…) and all of us ladies get to chatter like magpies for a couple of hours. Yes, this is gonna be great!

And I have no idea if the Mill/Grill takes reservations. I’ll call them today and find out. If they do, once we get a head count, I’ll be glad to make the reservations as well. I’ll post later when I find out.
Hmm…I cannot seem to find a listing (nor can Information) on either The Grill or The Mill. Does anyone know if there is more to the name, like “Joe Blow’s Grill on 20th” or something?
If it turns out to be difficult to get a number, we can always trek across the street to Mellow Mushroom. Actually, there are probably fifty different places we could walk to if push came to shove.
Let me know if anyone finds out the real name, though and I’ll be on it!

Thank ya muchly, Noc, but I did find that number, and it is no longer in service. I do know that as far back as maybe 7-10 days ago, some friends of mine ate lunch there, so unless they shut down (again) right after that it is open. They mentioned something about it being called “Somethingsomething Grill and Bakery” but I honestly don’t remember for sure.
I’ll see if I can contact one of them before I leave to find out the new name.
