Who else is planning on watching?
I love the French series. It will be interesting to see this. I have a mini-crush on Jeremy Sisto.
I will enjoy being able to focus on watching the screen instead of reading subtitles

Yep, can’t wait.
I am a little annoyed already, though, by everyone in the cast being Standard Hollywood Pretty as opposed to all of the unique, interesting faces on the French version.
Other than that, hoping for the best.
I was underwhelmed.
It was shot for shot and word for word the exact same show, minus the nudity and swearing.
There were small differences. The nurse is now a doctor. Camille’s dad now owns the bar. The psychic is actually a fraud.
The story apparently diverges from the original somewhere around episode 4, so they seem to be setting some of that up.
I thought it was fine. I already know all of the twists, so I’d be curious about how they hit someone who’s never seen it. They actually improved on (in my opinion) some of the minor plot elements that bothered me while watching the original. Like Simon beating up some innocent guy for no good reason except that the plot needs him in jail.
Only thing I’m really disappointed in is Camille. American Camille is incredibly bland.
I’ll go back to watching it. By the half hour mark, I had given up.
Is it still The Lake Poooob or do they say Pub, lol?
Nope. We don’t get to enjoy the sound of ‘Lake Poob’. It’s now called Dog Star. And given that the drinking age in America is 21, not 18, they apparently have a very lax policy when it comes to underage drinking.
Episode 2 is already up on A&E’s website.
I’m confused by this. Isn’t Resurrection based on the French version of The Returned? That’s still on the air. What’s the point of doing this one at the same time?
(I have seen neither series, but realize that some people will think the A&E version is better than the other (ABC?) one. But that’s not an answer. I mean, I can’t see a producer saying to an A&E executive, “Yes, it’s a remake of a show that’s currently running on a much larger network. But ours will be better.”)
Nope. It’s based on an American novel, called The Returned that may or may not have stolen its concept from the French show of the same name.
Got it. Thanks.
(I do think that, before Resurrection debuted, I read several articles that said it was based on the French series. (Otherwise I never would have heard of the French series.) Thanks for the … What should I call it? … straight information.
Resurrection is completely different.
It’s like comparing Night of the Living Dead and The Walking Dead. Both have zombies, but very different.
I should point out that Resurrection isn’t still on the air, it ended a month or two back.
