NFL to remove ‘End Racism’ messaging in end zone ahead of Super Bowl: Sources
"Choose Love" and "It Takes All of Us" will be stenciled onto the back of the end zones at the Caesars Superdome.

It’s definitely not “and/or” since it has to be one person. But on the under you have Hurts, Mahomes, Pacheco, Hollywood and AJ Brown, Worthy, Schuster, Gainwell, Smith and Hopkins.
Barkley, who wears number 26, is the favorite to score the first TD, at +450.
Then it’s Hurts, number 1, at +600.
Then Hunt, number 29, +950.
Then Kelce, number 87, +1000.
Then Worthy, number 1, +1100.
Then A.J. Brown, number 11, +1200.
Then Pacheco, number 10, +1700.
Then Mahomes, number 15, also +1700.
Then Smith, number 6, also +1700.
I would expect a lot of late money to be put down on the Eagles, since, you know, they completely dominate pretty much every statistical category. But Mahomes, Mystique, Miracles, whatever…
Apparently there’s an Octopus prop bet where you can bet on a player to score a TD and the subsequent 2 point conversion.
Trump will be at the Super Bowl and naturally the NFL is kissing his ass as well so he won’t see anything that upsets him.

Trump will be at the Super Bowl
IIRC, DJT and his family attended a Nationals baseball game sometime during his first term. He was soundly booed.
It will be interesting to see the crowd’s reaction on Sunday.

Given the difference in demographics between the solid democratic DMV area for a typical Nats game and corporate bigwigs at the Super Bowl, I think Trump is safely inside his cocoon
Can we make it airtight?
Virginia Halas McCaskey, the daughter of Bears founder (and NFL co-founder) George Halas, and owner of the Bears since her father’s death in 1983, passed away this morning, at age 102.
The senior Halas had originally planned to have his son, George “Mugs” Halas Jr., take over the team, but due to Mugs’ death from a heart attack in 1979, Virginia ultimately inherited the team.
It’ll be interesting to see if the McCaskey family decides to continue its ownership of the team, or sells it.

There’s supposedly been a secret succession plan in place, will be interesting to see what that is. There’s too many kids and grandkids to divide up her stake and to still comply with NFL equity rules. There was reporting that Goodell and the family came to some agreement several years back, but we don’t know if they will somehow consolidate ownership or if the league will give them an exception.
Selling the team seems the cleanest solution, but to date we haven’t ever heard of them considering that.
Also…her last game was a win against the Packers. Which is nice.

Someone on Reddit claimed that there were suspicions/rumors about his death due to how the aftermath was handled. Something about getting rid of his organs after a court ordered a second autopsy?
If we’re talking about who owns Duh Bears now all the questions about Sunday’s game must have been answered.

I was reading the Wikipedia entry for Mugs, and saw that. His family asked for an investigation of his death, and a second autopsy, in 1987, eight years after his death. (I suspect that they were fishing for money, as Mugs’ life insurance would have paid double on a wrongful death.)
At that point, it was discovered that the organs had been disposed of after the first autopsy, which was apparently standard practice if foul play was not suspected (and, at the time of his death, it apparently wasn’t). The family then filed a lawsuit against pretty much everyone: the police, the medical examiner’s office, the Bears, the NFL, and Pete Rozelle; that suit went nowhere.
From what I can gather, after George Halas Sr.’s death, there was no love lost between Mugs’ family and the McCaskeys.
not at all. big break there. according to mug’s children they heard of their grandfather’s passing from the news. no phone call.
From the NFL Honors festivities tonight, and the naming of various award winners:
Also, this year’s inductees to the Pro Football Hall of Fame were announced:
Notably not being elected, in their first year of eligibility, were Eli Manning and Adam Vinatieri.
Most Valuable Player: Bills QB Josh Allen
This was the first time since 1987 that the MVP was not a first-team All-Pro. Lamar Jackson was voted first-team to the All-Pro team, while Allen was second.
The last time this happened John Elway was MVP while Joe Montana was All-Pro.
Great to see one of my favorite players, Sterling Sharpe, finally get into the Hall of Fame. Dude was electric, fun to watch, and a huge difference maker for the Packers. And he has a 100% passing completion percentage (1 for 1 for 1 yard). He made 3 All Pro’s (and 5 Pro Bowls) in just 7 years. Good for him.
Although I have resigned myself to Eli eventually (and absolutely undeservingly) getting into the hall of fame, there was no way he was going to be a first ballot guy. I did like reading this though:
"But Manning never earned All-Pro honors or received a single MVP vote; he was not All-Decade; and he made only four Pro Bowls in 16 seasons.
Manning also never led the NFL in touchdown passes but three times led the league in interceptions. His career record is 117-117, and his career passer rating of 84.1 is 60th on the all-time list."
And the Josh Allen/Lamar Jackson MVP debate was, to my mind, too close to bitch about either way. I do think there was a bit of Lamsr already has 3 so give it to Josh.
Adam Vinatieri deserves to get in. I think he will, eventually, although I don’t know how many votes he got and how close he was.
I wish Allen and Jackson could have managed a tie for MVP, but Allen is deserving enough.
