Sunny_Daze, would it help if I held hubby down while you fussed to get him to go to the doctor. I fought the kidney stones on my right side, and they won. It had to be taken out. Maybe if hubby goes now he can avoid something like that.
I’ve told him this before, but it’s about to be every word out of my mouth. He’s got scarring, and cysts, and a number of other stones. I think I should start going to his appointments with him.
ace, I got a FB request to friend you. Have you opened a new account?
I picked up a MarketPlace buy today and am not happy with it. The last office chair that I bought from there had a bar right under my knees that just killed my legs. This one sat nice when I tried it out at the seller’s, but once I got it into the studio, I found out the cannister is shot. So my options are sitting 14" from the ground in a comfy chair or at normal desk height in one that kills me. I’m going to have to break down and buy a new one, I’m afraid. And I hate putting the damn things together.
Lol. Thanks, FCM
And here I thought Hubs was an only child. I didn’t know he had a brother running around. There have been days when I had to remind myself that killing hubs because he wasn’t taking care of his health would just defeat the purpose of my nagging.
I wish you enough success that you don’t lose your mind and buy a jerkface kitten.
My back doctor gave me pills that he said would be very sedating and should only be taken at bedtime. My sleep is exactly the same and I’m waking up earlier because they are helping my back pain enough that I actually rest.
I’m always willing to try a new med my doctor thinks will be helpful because I know that if I don’t like it, I can (and do) quit and ask for something that suits me better.
Failing that, get in the habit of holding a nice handkerchief in your left hand. It will help conceal the tremors and give you something handy if you need to wipe something up. I could come up with a couple of nice fancy handkerchiefs if you wanted to give me an idea as to what you would like…
I always enjoy the dog park updates. It’s like the canine version of Days of Our Lives It’s good that we don’t have a dog, there is no way I’d be out there in that kind of cold. I’m inside cuddled up under kitties until it’s at least 40F and then I just scamper out and tend to the yard flock then scamper back in to put my cold fingers on a warm kitty belly.
As long as it’s not windy and the sun is shining, 15 degrees isn’t that horrible. And I have my toe warmers, they make a huge difference.
The pita it is if I don’t take the brats to the park is worse than the cold. They need to burn off some energy. I feel better too on the days I take them. It does me good to get out, since the dog park is basically the only place I go.
I’m glad you’re not bored by my park stories.
When it’s warm enough that my fingers won’t freeze, I’ll start making some videos again. Or try to, sometimes the conversations in the background aren’t something y’all would want to hear. Or maybe you would. lol
That’s why I’m thankful I have the dog that I do and the big fenced yard. Pugs are content (and seem to prefer) lying around, chilling. Higgs will get an attack of the barkies and we’ll throw her out in the yard to get it out of her system - usually within 10 minutes. Then it’s back in, assuming the position on the love seat or sharing my recliner.
VanGo - my daughter posted that pic and I immediately thought of you!
And as the day creeps to a close, I think it’s time for some recliner chillage. I may or may not post again today… just gotta wait and see!
Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, went to the Pig but there were no Diet Cokes to be had, got back to da cave, had sammiches, napped, and just a little bit ago I hauled the biiiiiiiiiiig trash can all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. I was goin’ to haul my neighbor’s biiiiiiiiiiig trash can as well since she is out of town due to the death of her son in law. However, there was only one small bag of trash in her can so I got it out and put it in ours. That is more about the neighborhood trash than anyone ever would want to know. Tomorrow is men’s night over to the church house, thus steaks are marinatin’ and beer is chillin’.
BBB those are some kee-yooote grand young’uns!
I read all but have retained little, so yays, boos, hugs, trouts, chitlins, noogies and how you doin’s all around, as needed.
Love the sign Mooooooom.
Well, I found a gaming chair on MP that not only was here in town, but practically brand new and less money than I paid for the POS that I bought this afternoon. It’s comfy, sturdy and good quality. Here’s hoping that my back, hips and knees will begin to feel better.
See y’all tomorrow!
I took myself on a wild adventure today. I needed an OTC allergy med. I can’t walk to the pharmacy, and I didn’t want to spend $20 on Uber to get there and back, but there’s a bus stop just outside of my complex. I caught a bus there and back. It was sooo nice getting out among humans, and though my back wasn’t too happy, it didn’t hurt nearly as much as it would have if I’d tried walking a few blocks.
I had to chuckle at the check-in questionnaire I got for Tuesday’s appointment. One required question was “Since surgery, my pain level has improved to (select numerical value):” and the next was, “Since surgery, my pain level has worsened to (select numerical value):” They’re both required.
Thank you, thank you, for the adorable photos! Monkey’s butt is cuter than many people’s faces. OMG, the one of Roxy feeding Tobias is precious. And isn’t he lucky to have so much gorgeous hair?! I love your grandson’s grin, Boo; you can see he puts his whole self into it. And Harriet is gorgeous!
Quietly, so Euro Disney is cheaper AND they sell wine there, right? Sign me up! Sorry you had to get a new toilet, but yay on the confirmation that it wasn’t any lack of skill on your part that required the replacement.
sunny, I’d definitely go to hub’s appointments with him. You can call BS on whatever fibs he may tell the doc and hear what the doc says first-hand instead of whatever heavily redacted version your husband tells you.
baker, gotta agree with sunny on the meds. If they don’t work, there’s a new procedure that just got FDA approval. (I think it’s fairly major, though, so they want people to try meds first.) Tremors run in my family, which is how I heard about the procedure. Hopefully a low dose of meds would help, though. And I don’t think God wants you crying over spilled wine.
What a great explanation! When I lived in wild, windy Wyoming, the school psych told me once that many people find wind unsettling. I said wow, how do they manage in such a windy place? He said he recommends headphones and music. I hope you and the wind are calmer by now.
As always, you crack me up.
Our motto in the Seabees was “Cut it large and beat it into place.”
Day’s work is done and dinner eaten. We concentrated on the back deck and all the gardening shit that was stacked on the shelves back there. Washed all the spider egg sacks out along with their mothers. Lots of stuff for the skip. I think I’ve made my final sweep through the garage; everything else in there will be shipped. Gotta take three boxes of LPs to the Music Millennium this coming week. They buy albums and accept donations.
Dinner was spaghetti with sauce made with homemade pesto cubes and home-canned tomatoes. Time to collapse with a glass of vino tinto.
Thank you kindly. I am very smitten.
That he does. His daycare teacher call it his mega watt smile. I call it his tractor beam smile~he just won’t quit til he reels you in and you smile back. The yoda ears help the cuteness. Tobias got all the hair though, that is a mighty pretty baby boy in MerryLande.
Evening all. Went out to eat at Texas Roadhouse, the steak was a little underdone to my tastes but still tasty and I got a heap of fries with it, so belly was happy. Then came home and solved the Sunday puzzles (3 sudokus, 2 jumbles, and a crossword puzzle) and about 2pm I decided to take a short nap before going to the gym. Instead nappage turned into sleepage so it was 5pm before I got up so I abandoned the gym trip (there is always tomorrow) and toasted some cheese bread in the oven for dinner while watching the Rednecks Turning Left at 200MPH 500-mile race.
nellie, good idea on the bus.
red, hope chair #2 works out.
Sari, nice stories of the Dog Park. Hope you can get the unemployment unscrewed without exhausting your vocabulary.
Sunny, keep fussin’ at husband-unit, some men are to stubborn for their own good.
{{Baker}}, hope the hands are settled down.
Quietly, read that article, unbelievable costs to go to Disneyland (I’m closer to Orlando, don’t even want to image the prices there).
OK, it’s getting later into the evening and there are things I must do, so all y’all take care and I’ll catch you on the next MMP.
When I see your name, the theme music to “Like the sands through an hourglass, so are the days of our lives” show Mom used to watch before I was in school. Of course I sit right down and read the latest doggy gossip, its probably a genetic imperative or something like that.
The background gossip might turn out to be the best part!
I started the middle area on my piece and realized that I had done something wrong, so I fussed and back stitched and recounted and then went off to do something else. That something else ended up being posting my cottage cheese recipe in the Cafe Society if anyone wants to take a look. I’m all sorts of lazy, this is an easy recipe.
And now that my backmind figured out what I was doing wrong on my needlework I’m going back to it. As usual, it was a d’oh mistake, so I’m not going to share that I have problems counting to five at times.
Mrs. L.A. was mad at me last night, and I don’t know why. She was mad (‘I’m not mad!’) this afternoon. I made pot roast for dinner, and she’s not mad at me any more. Weird, eh?
I have Presidents Day off. My plans are to run the dishwasher, get everything out of the Prius, and maybe watch The Walking Dead: The World Beyond. I actually won’t have time to watch all ten episodes. But there’s always Heavy Metal, The Toys That Built America, and/or Once Upon AA Time In Hollywood.
I have Once Upon a Time in Hollywood in my “just acquired” stack (fifty cents to the local Friends of the Library).
