The Sap is Rising in the MMP!

Moooom indeed an overdose of cute
nameless beautiful!
boofae have you survived Eunice without damage? We had a lot of roof tiles flying around, one of which was ours unfortunately. A couple are dislocated, so we’ll need a roofer. Our house is pretty big and especially pretty high, not for amateurs to crawl around on.
It was pretty brutal, especially on the coast, and in Amsterdam the trees kept toppling on cars and cyclists. I think four dead all in all. In Holland weather in general is shitty this time of year but not often dangerous, this was tricky though.
Metalmouse my FIL made that trip a couple of years ago and it was fabulous. Have fun!
Happy Sunday everybody and take care.

That’s beautiful needlework there unknown.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and some Cajun 16 bean soup started in the crock. Once I’ve posted, I’ll add the vegetation to the beans, prep the week’s breakfasts / lunches and do KP. The usual Sunday stuff.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Closed last night and it takes me hours to wind down after irk. Called a friend out in Portland around midnight my time, since I knew she’d still be up. Yammered at each other for a while, still keyed up, so I took myself out on a 1 a.m. walk.

Now I’m awake at what I consider an unreasonably early hour for a Blessed Day Off (it’s barely 8:30 a.m. ferfuxsake) so a nap may - hopefully - ensue.

I LOL’d

Ah, yes. Here’s some kitty butt to brighten your day:

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. Somebody woke me up at 0500, barking about The Invisible Mole People. Also, the upstairs neighbors are drilling. At 0800 on a Sunday. :face_with_raised_eyebrow: I fear one day I shall awaken and find they have transformed the building into a giant Japanese fighting robot.
Also House of Swank has a line of coaster out. I must buy some

Neat stitchwork, unknown.

Cute Grands, BBBooo!

“If I squeeze the bottle, will his eye bug out like in a cartoon?”

: skritches Monkey butt :

All righty - showered, dressed, kitchen is mostly tidied, and we’re waiting for Doug to come over and claim his brackets. Mostly just chillage ahead, tho.

Good morning everyone.

I also completed my taxes yesterday and while I’m happy I don’t have to pay extra, I was disappointed at how small the return was. I was going to up my TSP contribution anyway, but I think I’m going to need to up my percentage to Uncle Sam too, otherwise I will be paying next year. Nellie, there is an option to enter your tax document data yourself on Turbo Tax. I was able to do so.

I got some chores done yesterday and that’s about it. Today I need to call the furniture store about when I can expect my sofa and loveseat. It’s been over two weeks and the container was supposedly supposed to be emptied the week we bought our stuff. I’m getting annoyed because I want to rent a dumpster so I can get the old sofa, plus all kinds of other stuff away. I can’t get the dumpster until I know when the new furniture is arriving. I have a room upstairs that became the catch-all room when the kids moved out and I need to empty it, plus I have a broken treadmill and some other stuff that needs to be gone. I’m sick of looking at it.

More chores today, I think. Perhaps a nap; I couldn’t fall asleep until past 1:00 am and I was up at 4:00. Sigh.

Beautiful grandkids! I need to find a forum that will allow me to share my pics.

Morning all. Pills taken and paper retrieved from the driveway. Not much planned for the day, may go to the gym to swim, or may not. Dining out will be at the Texas Roadhouse (have to remember to tell them no egg in the salad). According to the weather wizards, it’s due to reach 62F today with clear skies, but there is the chance of rain each day Monday-Friday this coming week, so it could get soggy.

BBBoo and FCM, great pics and much enjoyed! And seeing Monkey ‘helping’ is too funny, shoe. And doggio, just the subject I want to be thinking about during breakfast…

plant doc, glad the damage wasn’t any worse. Hardly any news here about the bad weather in Europe.

OK, need to do the Sunday internettin’ and be about the day. All y’all take care.

I could probably make those laying tools. But I’m suuuper busy until at least mid April. And I’ll need to dig out my lathe. How necessary are all the ridges?

thanks mooom for posting grand babies for me!

I have given Monkey many skritchies in y’alls honor.

He has now parked himself ON ME and is insisting on more.

Y’all created a monster.

The wind is HOWLING around 30 mph with bigger gusts. I don’t like that sound - it sounds like the anxiety in my brain, and triggers the same.

He hasn’t made the strip club one yet, so I have to make do.

And breakfast was a cheese omelet, sauteed mushrooms, and hashbrowns scattered, smothered, and chunked(and Alex Catt took a swing at Gordie, so I gt the full Waffle House experience. )

Happy Sunday! Hope everyone is having a wonderful day. I, for example, am waiting for the plumber to tell me how much it will cost to fix the master bath toilet. When I took off the lid to adjust the float (because it had started running) I saw nothing I was used to. Completely different guts than a normal toilet. Option 1: Go ahead and try to fix it, probably breaking something in the process and needing a call to the plumber, or Option 2: Skip right ahead to the plumber.

Did you know that it is actually cheaper for someone in L.A. to spend a week at EuroDisney than it is to visit DisneyLand in Anaheim?

I feel better. The plumber took one look at the tank and said “I’ve never seen anything like that in my life.” Which means I wouldn’t have been able to fix it anyway. So there goes another $400 for a new toilet. But this one I will know how to fix!

Golden Corral has forever replaced Waffle House in the dining hall of WTF - that flying high chair did it.

Very cute babbies!

silenus that’s horrifying (Disneyland)! I grew up going there every year. I can’t believe what it’s become. Bummer about the toilet too. I think I’d be hopping mad in your shoes about now.

It might actually rain a few days next week, which would be a Very Good Thing.

Take care everyone!

Biscuits and gravy with a fried egg for breakfast. We took a day off on sorting and tossing yesterday, so back at it today while the weather is good. Also, the skip gets hauled away on Wednesday, so we need to toss everything possible into it. I put out a pair of Coleman folding chairs last night and someone grabbed them. I’d rather do that than deal with the morons on FB Marketplace.

It’s not really a lot of work when you consider the part that I’m doing this for fun  While I enjoy doing the traditional heirloom work, the new designs and stitches designers are coming up with are fabulous! This is coming out so pretty and the instructions are nice and clear so the only time I have to back stitch (fancy term for ripping stitches out) is when I don’t count properly.

I tried rubber bands and one of those soft rubber triangle things folks put on pens and they both annoyed the heck out of me. I’m far too high maintenance for such an easy fix to work.

I use the ridge closest to the point to tell me where to grip, the others are decorative. There really isn’t a hurry on it, a nicer tool is a want, not a need. However, while you are making mine consider if you want me to brag you up at the needlework seminar. Buying tools for our hobby is also a hobby in itself so I can brag that I found a wonderful tool maker and here’s the contact info or I can brag that an online friend custom made my tool just for me and they can all just go suck lemons or something!!!

Very cute grandkids, thanks for posting the pics FCM. shoe, did you give Monkey a helpful tap on the butt after taking the pic? VBC has had several toilet baths because it’s just irresistible sometimes.

I saw that tomorrow in my area it could get up to 71F, but the day after THAT it’s predicted to have a high below freezing. The winter weather here can go take a flying leap and…

I kind of embarassed myself at deheathenization this morning. At Communion I took one of the little wine cups with my right hand and it started to shake a little. So I tried to use my left hand to brace it some. thinking the two hands together would be steady each other. But my left hand, having had tremors lately, only made things worse and I spilled some of the cup. Only a couple teaspoons maybe but still I hated making a mess like that on the altar rail. I have had the tremor in my left for a while now but it seems to be getting a little worse. The doctor said that meds that could treat it would have a sedating effect, and I don’t want to sleep too much.

That banana cake I made a couple days ago is unaccountably disappearing. I have NO idea why that is happening.

I’m finally on the Death Pool board, but with zero points. How may you ask? The guy who passed was a unique pick, but 101 years old. His name was Gail Halversen, and there’s a thread about him going on. Or you could Google “Candy Bomber”

swampie, I thought it was BEER that was proof that God wants us to be happy!!!

I think it’s worth trying. Not everyone reacts the same, for one thing, so you might not get sleepy at all. Sometimes the sedating effects stop after you’ve taken the medication for a bit, and you adjust to it. Getting old sucks, I must say.

Beer certainly is strong evidence that God wants us to be happy.

Hubby is passing kidney stones. Does he want to tell his kidney dr? No, he does not. Am I going to kick up a fuss until he does? Yes, yes I am. Idiot man.

Happy Moonday!

It was 15 degrees at the park this morning. No wind though, so it didn’t feel too bad.
I kind of didn’t want to go, but Lily was going and I like to see her. Her mom is my son’s boss. She used to irk a three 12-hour day shift (which was more like 14-hour shifts), but somebody on high decided she should irk four 10-hour day shifts, which has somehow become 5 10-hour day shifts.
I didn’t get to see her anyway except to wave at her because the 3-pack showed up and Lily and the 3-pack don’t do so well together.
The problem with the 3-pack is that they act like a pack instead of individuals. If a dog tries to play with one of them, the next thing you know, it’s three on one. Three on one irks among our core group because they all know each other so well. It doesn’t irk so well when they don’t.
Most of the pairs of dogs that come to the park go their separate ways in the park, so they aren’t ganging up on other dogs. The 3-pack is a mother and her two sons (10 months old), none of them neutered yet, and very protective of each other.
I think they will get better with time, and their owner is very good at keeping an eye on them and making them behave. Also, one of the park people already said something to her about having three dogs in the park, only two per person allowed, so they may be asked to leave.

My two go their separate ways in the park, they seldom hang together or play together. Sometimes they will play with Lily, and it will be two on one, but the one rotates so nobody is constantly picked on.
Panini can’t wait to get away from Bread at the park. She wants a break from her pita little sister. That is how it goes with most pairs. They can play together anytime; they want somebody new to play with.

Ace, I see you are back on fb. I think fb needs to start policing their execs rather than their members.

I hope your performance went well Ooopsie.

Unemployment screwed up my son’s money. He was approved, but his check amount is ZERO. Why is it zero? Because they are f’ing assholes who didn’t include his irk from Oct, Nov, Dec, and Jan. For some reason they think he stopped irking Sept 30, because somebody who stopped irking in Sept would wait until Feb to apply for unemployment?
We had to put in an appeal.

Your work is beautiful Unknown.

Such beautiful grandchildren!

I came home from the park, ate breakfast, and fell asleep. Just like I did yesterday.
I’ve been sleeping way too much lately, all I have to do is sit down and I am out.

Hope you are feeling better Nellie
