The Sap is Rising in the MMP!

Howdy Y’all! Went to see the doc and vampires this mornin’ and was in and out in under an hour. I think this is a new record for me. I scored three big bags of Hershey’s Kisses at Walgreen’s afterward. I could’ve gotten more cheap chawklit stuff but decided that was enough. We have a tendency toward inhalin’ any and all chawklit as quickly as possible when it’s in da cave. Sloth, nappage, and some general useless were accomplished. Sup got et and made. Thus was the day.

red you must remain seated until the reddish dog is ready for you to move. It’s the law.

Thanks so much for thinking of me, baker. No, I don’t use either. Even if I’m holding onto something or leaning on a counter, standing for more than a couple minutes hurts, so I don’t think a cane or walker would help.

A friend took me to get the monthly injection–first time I didn’t have to go to Seattle for it. She also picked up an Rx I needed. Friends are a blessing (especially Mumper friends.)

taters, thank you so much for your kind words.

wordy, wow, glad you discovered the contact so you didn’t have to go to the oatometrist.

Mom, good luck with the drain.

VanGo, you need some good music to block out the Bilbo thing. Try this:

Gordie has Skittles? Here, Gordie! Here, boy!

There are no words to describe … what … brain broken …

I’m so happy I had just finished a bowl before clicking. Now I have to clean the tears off my glasses.

I’m having trouble typing this I’m laughing so hard. Good music that was not, but it may displace Bilbo. The ending is spectacular.

One grey Monday morning, I somberly told my sleepy 1st period students I had a very important movie to show them, and I expected them to pay careful attention. Then I played that video. The looks on their faces! After a pause, a kid who was still staring slack-jawed at the TV, said, “That is the best video I’ve seen in my life.”

They were definitely awake then.

That was hilarious nellie!

swampy, a quick rattle of the treat bag brought the reddish dog out of his slumber.

nellie, after that song, I’m torn between never ever visiting Switzerland and booking a trip tomorrow for there… Thanks for the grin.

swampy, I don’t keep chocolate in my house either for the same reason; it disappears almost immediately. Years ago I stopped buying potato chips, french fries, ice cream and Oreo cookies because bringing them into the house meant snacking all day–no willpower at all. Still eat them when I’m out, however.

Well, VanGo, if Nimoy isn’t your thing, there is always William Shatner singing “Rocket Man”…(I refuse to link it as that may violate several disarmament treaties…).

shoe, spent about 20 minutes in the big whirlpool at the gym today; I have to admit it feels good. Hope you make the house run safely.

quietly, that’s an interesting point; will have to check if my Dodge is also affected (2017 vehicle).

talky, good on you for keeping boss folks in the know on who really did the work; and boo on the cow-orker. And passing a contact might be cause for reflection…glad you found it in time.

FCM, glad you mentioned your mower servicing. I need to take mine in now so it’s ready when the mowing season starts in March/April. Usually get it worked on every other year.

Did my swimming, up to 500 yards, and stayed in the sauna for 20 minutes this time, so sore but relaxed. Hadn’t taken any bread out of the freezer, so went to Dairy Queen for lunch (their burgers and fries aren’t half-bad). Semi-dozed during the soccer game, but woke up enough to start work on next year’s Antarctic cruise. Looks like I found one for next February, the cost of cruise and getting there will probably cost as much as a small car, but I’ve had a special account for this for several years so what’s money for if you can’t spend it for your 70th year on the planet? Still details to work out and then a year of anticipation, but will be good to have it as a done deal.

OK, need to be considering some dinner, then internettin’ and readin’ to finish off the day. All y’all take care.

Can you share a link to the website? I would love to see more pictures…

'Beamer had his eye surgery yesterday and as of this morning all is looking well. I need to go put meds in his eyes now that I think of it.

We’re have Chinese food for dinner. My daughter is using her monthly pick for that. After that, I’ll be the only one left with a dinner pick. Oh the power - MWAHAHAHAHA

Take care everyone

My bread from Trader Joe’s tastes oddly…soapy. My lasagna turned out well.

Cilantro?

Nope, no cilantro, but I am one of those soap tasters. I’m starting to think that the silver butter dish is doing something. Perhaps it was the butter that was off? Is there a known butter-silver reaction? If so, why are there so many silver butter dishes? Maybe I can type silver a few more times so it stops being a word. Silver silver silver. Yup, lost all meaning, doesn’t even look like a word anymore.

$283 dollars later, I have a working dryer and a Sazarac in my hand. It was just a fuze(and apparently the washer and dryer are high quality models, and worth repairing).

I hope he bought those chickens drinks after that.

because eating oatmeal and contacts together can cause grain damage.

You need to go to your room and think about what you did!!!

 :joy:

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

Up, showered, dressed, fed, and waiting for my daughter’s text so I can go fetch the little lad. SIL is off tomorrow and Daughter is off Firday and Moanday, so no more babby till Tues! We plan to head to the boat tomorrow and get the canvas - that’s the extent of our loooooooong weekend plans. Retirement is truly nice!

FCD is going to see his spinal surgeon in Baltimore this morning to talk about his neuropathy. I don’t expect there’s anything the doc can do, but I’m glad he’s going. Wish I could go along - I hate for him to make long drives alone these days, but there’s nothing I can do about it, alas. So I’ll watch the little dude and do some laundry. Good times!!

Happy Wednesday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 45 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 79 and N.O.S. for the day. Today is pre-Spring, I reckon. We shall procure provisions Sup shall be leftovers from yestiddy. Much sloth shall ensue.

Nellie that was ummmm… special.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, since, bother of bother, I must be in public, I suppose I shall purtify and don appropriate desire. Oh woe!

Happy HumpDay Y’all!

Hi everyone. I’m back to work, which wasn’t too bad yesterday. I got an opportunity to put my medical skills to the test last night when my eldest son managed to put his hand through the bathroom door window. We have an old house with old, pretty crappy doors. He was goofing around with his brother and banged the glass, resulting in a hail of splinters (crappy, old and razor-sharp), a panicked little brother and one profusely bleeding hand. I had to pick out some glass and was fortunate to always have Steristrips in stock, so I patched him back together. Saw the GP today and she confirmed no stitches needed, so I’m glad I made the right call and didn’t drag him to the ER where we would have been waiting for hours. Still, scary stuff. I’m glad I’m still able to make correct assessments in emergency situations, after all I’m no surgeon. Today is my day off, so I’m at home with the kids. Eldest is not allowed to play video games because of his injury (I never would have thought of that) so bummer, but everything else pretty much OK. Spring is in the air.
Happy Wednesday everyone!

Good morning everyone.

It’s 40 degrees, cloudy, and still dark outside.

Yesterday was super busy, but that’s nothing unusual. I considered making today a mental health day this morning, but then I thought better of it. Besides, if I want to take a day, I should do it this Friday so I have a four-day weekend. I was going to talk to my boss about that yesterday, but just never got around to it. Maybe today, we shall see.

Talked to the contractor and sent out an email about the goofy swinging door install at the Yakima office. I don’t expect an instant resolution but will have to check again in about a week.

I gotta say, retired life looks better every day, but I am determined to stick it out and build up my TSP.
