The school poetry assignment and the 10-year-old boy

Can I share a song? A song’s a poem in pixels, after all. This was composed on the fly by my just-turned 4 year old last night…

The rain is washing the trees
The rain is washing on me
The rain hits my window and scares me sometimes
But it washes everything clean.

I wish I could share the tune with you! It was so, so cute.

my 11-year-old doesn’t have poetry I can offer up, but I came in to read this. Great stuff, CairoSon and RobardinDaughter - both are great.

jeez, I think of the hackneyed tripe I offered up in my 20’s when I was going through my Mr. Intensity period - these kids have me beat cold…

I love the song, WnyNot - I can hear James Taylor singing it in my head.

So, Lamar Mundane, your sister teaches at a school for expats in Jakarta? All I can say is, if she is my son’s teacher from either last year or now, she’s fabulous! If your sister teaches mixed 5th and 6th graders she almost certainly knows him. Now THAT would be a small world story.

Small world.

Wouldn’t want to paint it.
