Now we have four distinctly different jewelry-makers here. What fun! And there’s always room for more.
::gets out pliers, mandrel, and a small wirecutter, starts making a few wire rings to put out in a basket::
I have to keep my hands busy, or I’ll never stop eating these cookies. Mmmmmmphhhhh…
Dire Wolf, The earring rack is just beautiful! Thank-you! I want to buy one for AudreyK, and I need at least 4 necklace racks, too, for myself and to give as gifts.
::fumbles in virtual purse for virtual checkbook::
I specalize in native, venomous species. I do problem snake removal and re-location (not as easy as it sounds), educational seminars at schools and the Scout camps, and so forth. I keep a few snakes, mostly Crotalus (Rattlesnakes) for demonstration and, well hell, because I like them.
Nice to meet another herp freak! Drop by my table and pick yourself out a hook.
Okay, filthy, and I’ll pick a couple up for my two brothers and my sister. And my neighbor and I will try to find up some fabric with reptiles on it, and make cards that you would like.
Yes! More jewelry makers! Hand-crafted jewelry is the best. My mom makes jewelry too. With the exception of 3 or 4 necklaces & my engagement & wedding rings, I haven’t bought any jewelry from a store in over 10 years. Either my mom makes it for me, or I get it from craft shows like this.
I’m still looking for that table runner…we need some cloth people in here! Stat!
aha, could you kindly drop trou for me? I need to fit this crocheted (ahem) warmer. Check it out–it makes your (ahem) look like a little reindeer! Cute, huh?
:: DW returns, covered in sawdust and Minwax #215 Red Oak stain ::
Sorry, I’ve been busy making earring racks. AudreyK, would you like the wheat grain pattern carved into yours? It’s just like the one I gave Tabithina.
aha, that warmer looks good on you. Even has a red nose.
Oh. OH!
Cripes, aha, put that thing away, wouldja? This is a family event!
Dire Wolf, do you have any of those racks left?
They’re just beautiful and perfect for displaying my beaded necklaces and earrings for sale.
I also have several cross-stiched pictures and etched and hand-painted glass Christmas ornaments made by yours truly.
I’ll just put my stuff up over here and try to finish this dragon picture while I try NOT to look at what aha is wearing.
Hi guys,I’m glad there’s enough room for all the different jewellry-makers. Geez, maybe we could meet elsewhere later and swap techniques?
Dire Wolf, can I swap you a mastodon ivory pendant for several of those racks? Say, one earring rack and three necklace racks? Since you’re looking a little overwhelmed, plain would be just perfect.
{bustling about, setting up ivory pendants, some wirework, ivory crib pegs, antler buttons, beaded moccasins, salmon leather medicine bags, fimo pendants, soapstone and antler pipes . . .) Oh, and Persephone, here’s some cross-stitch stuff my Mom did, including a table runner.
Lovely outfit, aha, good thing I’ve been lurking around the boards or I might get the wrong impression about you.
I’ll be back in a minute . . . my dad needs one of filthy’s sweet potato pies and some of that barbecue sauce and I really want to check out the other jewelry tables.
Oooh, hand-painted glass! How pretty - my mothers will love them. Two, please.
Audrey I learned how to make them from a kit I got one Christmas… I liked them so much I bought more stuff to make more and put them together to give as gifts and stuff. My whole family does crafty sorts of stuff (even my Dad and brother though they do more along the lines of woodworking).
Oh my look at all the nifty stuff around here. Very cool. I’m gonna have to watch my money I usually buy lots of stuff when I go to craft fairs. blinks at the warmer and turns slightly pink Oh my…
Well, I’m glad to see that the (ahem) warmer turned out successfully. If anyone would like one of their own, for themselves or a friend, I do take orders!
C’mere aha, I’ve got another one for you. This one’s a little elephant.
:::watches as aha changes (ahem) warmers from the reindeer to the elephant:::
No, wait. Make that a big elephant.
Oh my.
Tabithina, I think you may be on to something there.
Just popped in to say that if any of you are really selling any of this stuff, please make it clear. I am lusting after several things! Persephone, in as catalog I once saw from England, those (ahem) warmers were called willie warmers. I could use one…
I am working on crochet snowflakes starched with glitter and some that glow in the dark for Yule. Perfect for the tree.
I also have corsets and other Ren Faire garb to put out.
I want to set a table by someone who makes necklaces, because nothing goes better with cleavage than a lovely handmade necklace.
As for baked goods I have hard candy: Strawberrie, Lemon, peppermint, and grape.
Carmel and fudge, frosted cut-out cookies decorated by the kids, chocolate chip, and oatmeal butterscotch.
I am willing to mail out snowflakes to anyone who would like one, just email me.
I’ve got a book about how to make those starched snowflakes, and I’ve got the right hooks & thread, but I haven’t treid to do it yet. I’m still trying to conquer potholders.
I think I’m gonna have to get me one o’ them there corsets. Might make for some interesting, um, eveningwear.
I am having one of my friends help coach me with the snowflakes because I have a hard time understanding the patterns. But once you get it they take no time at all.
Corsets do give a nice lift to things but be fore warned that you don’t get too many people to look in your eyes when you are wearing one.
