I just made and ate a yummerrific baked potato soup. The recipe says it takes 10 minutes to prep and 20 minutes to cook. The recipe lies!!! But it’s a gooooooooood soup, so I forgive the lie. And I’ve got lunch for tomorrow - yum again!
Class went really well last night, and I got a couple of inspired ideas, one of which came as I was driving home. Can’t wait to get back tomorrow to have a go at it. My coral reef sculpture is way cool! And it’s going to become an indoor water feature thingie after all.
Move over and give me some space in the hot tub. I needs me some relaxin’ - weird dreams again last night had me waking frequently. My subconscious goes crazy when I let it go. Glad I don’t act on it…
Speaking of ceramics (as I was back there a bit) - I need to unload some more of my stuff. If there’s any interest, all I ask is that you pay the postage to ship it to you - it runs around $5 or $6 for most pieces. If you want something, send me an email and I can zap you some pics of what I have. I don’t want to do a thread about it, so drop me a line if you want a masterpiece or something…

Howdy Y’all! Home from anudder funfilled day of wireless telephone service. Know what’s fun to watch? It’s fun to watch rows and rows of computers go down slowly one at a time. That happened this mornin’ first thing. Fortunately they were all back up and runnin’ full speed thirty minutes later. Made for an adrenalin filled half hour though. Just the thing to get ya goin’ on a cold mornin’.
Speakin’ of cold, it’s supposed to get down to Eighteen degrees Amurrkin tonight! :eek: I foresee icebergs and polar bears in the pool tomorrow.
Nava the consumption of alcohol is not a requisite to be Whiskeypalian. Well, except for Communion wine and even that you don’t have to take. Whiskypalian is what we’re known as around heah because we actually say it’s okay to drink. Also, we will speak to each other in the liquor store, unlike say, the Baptists who will try to duck and hide from each other.

Today I walked to class in sandals. It was fine at 3:40. At 7, when it was also snowing, a little more uncomfortable.

Hm. Mr. Lissar just went to the dentist. We’re going to have to check his coverage, but we think he needs a whole lot more work done than we can afford. Sigh.

This morning I got my first sense of the coming autumn. It can’t come soon enough as far as I’m concerned.
This may be a stupid question, but do you folks in Australia decorate for Christmas with fake snow? Or does the whole motif have a more summery look?
Clearly, you are all turned around. It’s intuitively obvious that the next season up is spring.
But yeah, the extreme seasons seem to be treating everyone badly this year. Everyone I’ve talked to around here would like for winter to be over, thankyewverymuch.

Got home late-ish, but was forced - FORCED, I say! - to go to the local yarn store to get a couple of skeins to play with. I want to make sure I have enough yarn to make my hat and mittens to match scarf #1 and didn’t have any other yarn that was the same weight to practice with. It’s a nice store. I’ll go back later and take a good look. I just needed my fix of play yarn.

Hi all. I did stay home today and am feeling some better, so back to work tomorrow. It’s very cold here too, Swampy, in case FCM forgot to mention that.
I got my ravelry invite and have been over there perusing a bit. Wow … it’s all well over my head but at least I joined up with the beginner crochet group, I think. My head is still a bit light so I haven’t explored much yet. It looks really great, though.

Do you also say “hi” to each other in the hall leading to the toilets, without having to be female? I always find it strange that men in the way to and from the bathroom behave as if needing to pee was a hush-hush thing, while those same guys will happily wee on the same traffic signal once a couple beers have been processed…
rosie, in Costa Rica two of the questions people asked us once they had built up enough confidence were “what are sheep like?” and “what is snow like?” - yet their Nativities are full of sheep and snow.

I’ve been at work for one hour. Five phone calls and 12 emails received, so far. I’d like to know how is anybody supposed to work like this. Yesterday there were 36 emails received. The Hordie is mighty pissed at Sheboss’ assumption that if we haven’t told her what are we doing minute by minute it means we’re not doing anything; she’s sent a two-screen email berating him for “having nothing to do for next week”… we planned what he’s going to do next week yesterday, but the protocol for sending “what I did this week and plan to do next week” calls for emails to her on Friday and Monday, not daily ones, so he hadn’t updated her. Pass the can of rolleyes. The Boy tried to explain to The Hordie “what’s caused this particular hard-on of hers” (lit translation of The Boy’s words) but The Hordie basically said (not literal) “if she freaks out so badly every time someone asks a question to which she doesn’t know the answer, she ought’a buy herself an ice pack and keep it handy.” Details on where to apply the ice pack were not provided.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. BRRRRRRRRR… According to the weather the offical low is 21 Amurrkin and tonight shall be like 18. Then, it will warm up to around 60. The weather around heah in winter is like ridin’ a rollercoaster. Come on Spring and Summer!
Oh and it’s my Firday! YAY!!! Course I have to go do Whiskypalian stuff tomorrow but not all day so there is that.
